Something Stupid

Written By: Richard Pasqua

Something Stupid

Why stars shine and the world’s always turning below
All these things in books I find they are easy to know
Something stupid always gets in my way
Something stupid is bound to rule the day

I try to analyze the things that are holding me back
It’s never anything big and that’s a matter of fact
Something stupid always gets in my way
Something stupid is bound to rule the day

I seen her glancing my way our eyes meet now and then
And baby I’m in love again
She’s so calm and assured, she’s so graceful and kind
All I need is one good line

I try to speak it’s like the world’s gonna to swallow me whole
Seems like language is something that I don’t know
Something stupid, I’m bound to say
Something stupid is bound to rule the day

I like to gather you up, sweep you right off your feet
Say something smooth and not too geek
It’s not a question of how, it’s just a question of when
Let’s get on with it then

She smiles and waves and I think that she’s ready to go
If I’m so smart I wonder, how come I don’t know
Something stupid always gets in our way
Something stupid is bound to rule the day

I like to gather you up, sweep you right off your feet
Say something smooth and not too geek
It’s not a question of how it’s just a question of when
Baby I’m your man

And I try, and I try
Oh maybe I should turn and walk away
And I turn, and she walks right up to me and don’t she say
Something stupid, now we’re on our way
Something stupid is bound to rule the day

Doylestown

Written By: Richard Pasqua

I’ve seen the sun, I’ve seen the rain
The seasons pass me once again
And like my pa, I till the ground
Outside these hills of Doylestown

It’s not the way it’s supposed to go
The farms they fall like dominos
Now there are houses all around
Outside these hills of Doylestown

They say the time has come, that farming here is done
I’ll be out baling hay, all of this live, long day
No matter what they say

The people coming in droves,
Building more stores, clogging the roads
Now cars and saws, and hammers sound
Outside these hills of Doylestown

I’ve got this anger that I, well I just can’t place
I’d fight this enemy, oh yes I would
But dammed if I can see his face

I’ll plant some corn, down the white line
Of 313 and 309
I’ll claim some land, before the sun goes down
Outside these hills of Doylestown

They say the time has come, that farming here is done
I’ll be out baling hay, all of this live, long day
No matter what they say

The vultures circle in the sky
Their looking for something that died
Could be my dreams that they have found
Outside these hills of Doylestown
Outside these hills of Doylestown
