Rick Tryfle

Rick Tryfle was always fascinated by music and the ways of changing and touching it. He started off with turntablism in his early career. Back then exploring the turntable as a musical instrument and learning scratch techniques was the most important thing to him. He started composing tracks solely made with a mixer and two turntabIes. He teamed up with other djs and made several prototypes of tracks. These sketches were mainly inspired by D Styles, Qbert, Beatjunkies and some kind of a deep space atmospherical feeling. His obtained skills got him more into the underground hip hop. He started focussing on making beats with the mpc and korg synths and started working with different mcees, being a backbone on stage and providing scratch hooks for songs. He performed on hip hop jams and got the honor to play as an opening act to Slumvillage, EMC, Stieber Twins, Dj Rafik and many more. Back then they called him Petit Regie.

In the meantime his life and aims began to change. He studied media and computer science and started working as a software developer. He became more and more attracted to the technical side of music and read books about mixing and mastering audio, as well as synthesizer theories. Still combining his knowledge, experience and emotions in his work his style of music became more electronic nowadays. He designs most of the sounds himself using synthesizers, a microphone and turntables. Coming from the turntablism background, he always enjoys exploring all kinds of genres, taking some influences from here and there and put them in his own work in a different way. His music retains hip hop and turntablism influences and combines them with electronic, ambient, dubstep and future beats. 

The most important thing to him is the expression of thoughts and emotions through his music and therefore the creation of an original sound inspired by the world, the people and the future.
