Rick Angelo Urias

I am currently in studio working on my CD that will be released this March 2013. As you read on you will discover how my music style came about.The musical talent comes from generations of musicians in my family. From my dad to his dads dad and so on. Everyone in my family has musical talent and I have continued the tradition of keeping the music alive. I grew up in a small west Texas town by the name of San Angelo and now I reside in the Dallas, Fort Worth area. I grew up listening to some of the greatest musicians such as Michael McDonald, Don Henley, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Sting and Billy Joel just to name a few. These artist were really my influence and my motivation to being a perfectionist as you know they most definitely are. I first started on the drums at the age of 10 yrs. It was then... I realized there really wasn't room for three drummers in the house so I decided to pick up on the piano at the age of 11 yrs. old and I never looked back. Along with learning to play the piano I also started singing... which then took me into composing my own music and writting my lyrics to this day. Listen closely and you can hear my influence from these great musicians along with my own style of writting and just letting it all out while just feeling the groove of my soul. When I'm on stage... just remember... I'm really some where else... In my mind...I am really not there.
