Rick Burke

With only a $70 guitar and an amplifier that would one day catch fire in his bedroom, Rick Burke launched his music career. Growing up he was most influenced by 70s and 80s classic rock, and he was a member of numerous garage bands. The bands came and went, along with his mullet, and the $70 guitar was replaced by a 12-string acoustic.

Adding to classic rock, Rick’s music has been influenced by varied artists including Van Morrison, Dropkick Murphys, Michael Card, Jeremy Camp, and Third Day. While they represent different sounds and styles, the varied musical influence coupled with his life experience combine for two constants in Rick’s music – story telling and glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ.

Rick, who considers his Boston accent a strength when it comes to rhyming lyrics, has been married to his amazing wife, Janna, for 19 years (they married young!). Determined to make a major contribution to populating the earth, they have created six children, now ranging in age from 17 to 4. The Burke family lives in southern New Hampshire where they worship at North Ridge Church in Derry.

For the past 3 years, Rick has written and performed original songs and led worship for weekly services at North Ridge, a brand new non-denominational church.

With a little help from therapy, eventually, Rick got over the loss of his first guitar and explosive amplifier and is now able to fulfill his passion for music by writing and performing songs that capture insights, and tell stories from a Christian perspective that any listener can relate to.
