Bio
Rick grew up in the small southern Ohio town of Portsmouth, Ferrell's family lived behind Earl Thomas Conley's parents. With 18 country #1 hits to his credit, Conley was truly larger than life to Ferrell. "He was a big influence on me because Earl Thomas had made it and that showed me it could be done," he attests. Ferrell's influences later broadened to include artists as diverse as Merle Haggard, Jackson Browne, Bruce Springsteen and James Taylor. Shortly after graduating from high school, Ferrell started writing seriously. "I was just drawn to the basement. I'd go down there and write and write and write," he recollects. "...Something drove me to it."
What sets Rick apart is his live shows. His amazing voice and great songwriting along with his care free personality give him a captivating stage presence.
