How Can I Tell Him?

Written By: Rick Lyon & David Lee Reitman

He was the one
who held out his hand
when I was callin’.
He was there for me.

Always the one
to help me to stand
when I was fallin’.
He would care for me.

But now we’re just pretendin’.
And I know it’s time to part.
Still, I just can’t bear
to break this good man’s heart.

How can I tell him
I don’t love him anymore?
How can I tell him
I don’t need him anymore?
How can I say goodbye?
I try and try.
It’s more than I can do.
How can I tell him
about you?

What can you say
when love drifts away?
I can’t deceive him.
He’s alone there.

I’m livin’ a lie,
afraid he’ll just die
if I should leave him
on his own there.

I find the words to say it,
like so many times before.
Then I see him there,
with roses at the door.

How can I tell him
I don’t love him anymore?
How can I tell him
I don’t need him anymore?
How can I let him go
and hurt him so
and let him know it’s true?
How can I tell him
about you?

So many times I tried.
So many tears I cried.
I got nowhere left to hide.
And it’s killing me inside.

How can I tell him
I don’t love him anymore?
How can I tell him
I don’t need him anymore?
How can I leave the key
and set him free,
with all that we’ve been through.
How can I tell him
about you?

I'm Here for You

Written By: Rick Lyon & David Lee Reitman

When the road ahead
doesn’t go your way.
I’ll be by your side,
and I’ll never stray.
If you take a fall
or you’re lost at sea,
you know who to call.
You can count on me:
I’m here for you.
I’ll see you through.
Wherever you are,
no matter how far,
I’m here for you.

People come and go,
and they let you down.
When you’re feelin’ low,
they don’t stick around.
But on the darkest night,
when you’re all alone,
I will hold the light
and I’ll lead you home.

Chs

I’ll share your joys,
and dry your tears.
I’ll dream your dreams
and ease your fears.
I’ll be your rock.
I’ll be your friend.
I’ll be the one
to fight for you
until the end.

I’m here for you.
I’ll see you through.
Wherever you are,
no matter how far,
I’m here for you.
You can count on me.
I'm here for you.

Get Away, Girl

Written By: Rick Lyon & David Lee Reitman

You live with a secret.
I see it in your eyes.
It's written on your face.
Can’t hide it with lies.

You pile on the makeup.
Won’t cover up the pain.
You gotta get out.
Gotta break the chain.

Get away, girl.
Run as fast as you can.
Get away, girl.
Get away from that man.
Any day, any night,
Just give me a shout.
Get away, girl.
We'll find a way out.

It starts with an insult
and ends in a lie.
You tell me you fell.
You won’t tell me why.

You think that you need him.
You think you’re to blame.
You hope it’ll end.
but it’s always the same.

[Chorus]

There’s someone out there
who will hold you tight.
He’ll touch you gently
and treat you right.
Somewhere out there,
there is so much more.
But the only way out
is to walk out that door.

[Chorus]

Do Whatcha Do

Written By: Rick Lyon

Ya mess up.
Ya fess up.
But you never mean it.
Ya drop it.
Ya break it.
but you never clean it.
Ya talk and
ya tease and
ya hang me to dry.
I throw out
cha keys and
I tell ya goodbye.

[Chs]
Then ya do whatcha do.
And I come back to you.
Then ya say whatcha say,
and I can’t stay away.
Then I tell ya I’m gone,
but I keep hangin’ on.
Whatcha puttin’ me through
when ya do whatcha do.

Whenever
I need ya
you’re missin’ in action.
Out casin’
and chasin’
your latest attraction.
Ya make me
so crazy
with all your deceivin’.
I pick up
and pack up
and tell ya I’m leavin’.

[Chs]

Do-oo what, do what choo do.
Do-oo what, do what choo do.
Do whatcha do-oo.
Do whatcha do.
Do whatcha do-oo
Do whatcha do.
Do what cha do to me.
Do what cha do to me.

[Chs]

M’ friends say
ain’t no way
that you’re gonna grow up.
You’d hire
a preacher,
but you’d never show up.
I’d tell ya
it’s over
and do like I should:
I’ll walk out
the door and
I’ll leave ya for good.

[Chs]
Then you’ll do whatcha do,
And I’ll come back to you.
Then you’ll say whatcha say,
and I can’t stay away.
Then I’ll tell ya I’m gone,
but I’ll keep hangin’ on.
Whatcha puttin’ me through
when ya do whatcha do.

I Told You So

Written By: Rick Lyon & David Lee Reitman

Last week,
you hit me with the news.
Another girl had lit your fuse.
You changed the name
on your tattoos.
But now you’re singin’ me the blues.
Well, mister, it’s your turn to lose.

She broke your heart.
I told you so.
Don’t you look smart?
I told you so.
Guess ya played your part
in her little show.
She let you go,
and I told you so.

Like you,
she breaks ‘em like a bone.
Like you,
she won’t pick up the phone.
Like you,
she puts ’em on a throne,
until she drops ya like a stone.
So, how’s it feel to be alone?

She broke your heart.
I told you so.
Don’t you look smart?
I told you so.
Betcha metcha match,
Mister Romeo.
She let you go,
and I told you so.
You used to think
that no one could resist ya.
Used to think
that you were the only one.
But now I’m free
and never even missed ya.
Because I’m ha-vin’ fun!

(Chorus)

It's Over for You

Written By: Rick Lyon & David Lee Reitman

It’s over for you.
Want somebody new.
It’s over for you.
It’s over for you.
Your playin’ around
and your lyin’ are through.
It’s over for you.
It’s over for you.
You said you were mine.
But you wouldn’t be true.
It’s over for you.
It’s over for you.
So, clear outta here.
You’re blockin’ my view.
Over for you.
It’s over for you.

They warned me about you.
You said they were wrong.
You swore I could trust you.
I tried to be strong.
You tell me you love me
one minute and then,
go right out and fool me,
again and again and again and again.
It’s over for you.
Want somebody new.
It’s over for you.
It’s over for you.
Your playin’ around
and your lyin’ are through.
It’s over for you.
It’s over for you.
Don’t care where you go.
Don’t care what you do.
It’s over for you.
It’s over for you.
Want somebody new.
You ain’t got a clue.
Over for you.
It’s over for you

Don’t try to see me.
You’ll only regret it.
Ain’t gonna forgive ya.
Ain’t gonna forget it.
I’ve heard all your talkin’
and tellin’ me why.
Ya better keep walkin’.
Goodbye is goodbye is goodbye is goodbye.

It’s over for you.
Want somebody new.
It’s over for you.
It’s over for you.
You’re playin’ around
and your lyin’ are through.
It’s over for you.
It’s over for you.
No more seein’ red.
No more feelin’ blue.
It’s over for you.
It’s over for you.
Want somebody new
who’ll be good to me, too.
Over for you.
It’s over for you.

The way that you made me feel,
oh, baby, you knew it.
I thought we could make it real.
But, sucka, you blew it!

Who says breakin’ up
is hard to do?
Over for you.
It’s over for you.

One Face in the Mirror

Written By: Rick Lyon & David Lee Reitman

I was gettin’ dressed to go out last night,
when you came up behind me and held me tight.
You told me how happy you and I were gonna be.
And I kissed your hand and thanked you for coming back to me.
So imagine my surprise
when I opened my eyes.

CHS
There was one face in the mirror.
One robe on the floor.
One cup on the table.
One long day to miss you more.
One face in the mirror,
where there used to be two.
It’s an empty room
without you.

Everywhere I go, I hear your name.
Everything I know, it’s all the same.
I’m feeling your touch or I’m seeing you cry,
as you pack your things and tell me, “It’s our last goodbye.”
When I reach for you at dawn,
can’t believe that you’re gone.

CHS
Only one face in the mirror.
One robe on the floor.
One cup on the table.
One long day to miss you more.
One face in the mirror,
where there used to be two.
It’s an empty room
without you.

Can’t you tell me somethiing I can say?
Can’t you tell me something I can do?
Won’t you tell me if there’s any way
to right the wrongs I know I’ve done to you?

CHS
