Rick Sorkin

Rick Sorkin

Bon Iver meets Tom Petty. Ryan Adams, Wilco and Ray LaMontagne all breakup with their girlfriends at the same time and go on a songwriting bender. Onstage jokes and audience interaction. Major Key songs that are still dark

Rick Sorkin was born in Philadelphia and began playing instruments at 5. He was a total band geek; upright bass in orchestra, bass drum in marching band, guitar in jazz and stage band, you get the idea

He graduated from The George Washington University with a BBA in Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management with a Minor in Jazz Studies.

Rick has been one half of The Venn Diagrams since 2002. This cabaret duo, with Jeffrey Marsh, has had critical success in Philadelphia and NYC, releasing albums, DVDs, and performing in such venues as World Cafe Live and Joe's Pub.

For many many years, Rick has been the primary songwriter in countless bands. He decided to just go ahead and sing them himself this time.

During his life as an artist, Rick has held a number of 'proper' jobs, including video store clerk, driving range golf cart driver, health inspector, bartender, and social media strategist. He lives in the East Village and isn't leaving.
