Formed in the summer of 2009, Ricky Free & The Wanted is a cohesive blend of pop, jazz, hard rock, and dance. The band is led by vocalist, guitarist, and pianist Ricky Free and supported by Mike Hale on bass and vocals. Free’s influences of bluegrass, gypsy jazz, rock, and metal form a unique blend with Hale’s influences of classical, jazz fusion, rock, and punk. Both have a love of pop and technically proficient musically.
Ricky Free & The Wanted is currently finishing their first EP “We Are the Ocean” and producing a collection of music videos entitled “Videophilia.” Both will be available on CD and DVD this spring. To support their releases, the band is planning an east coast tour this summer. Although their first CD has yet to be released, Ricky Free and Mike Hale are already writing songs for their next album.
