""My Philosphy" by Larry Mizell Jr."

Also, support your local talents, as yet another dope local platter landed in my hands recently—Civilized by Ricky Pharoe & Budo. You might recall Ricky in his previous incarnation as Greasy Earl, but whatever his name is, he quite insightfully deconstructs Masonic machinations, modern mating rituals, and commercial radio with supreme wit and a sprightly flow. "Civilized is my explanation of how the world we live in got so fucked up," says the mysterious Ricky P. "How we went from balanced to chaos... we live in chaos—very precisely interwoven chaos, and now we jump through hoops just to live a basic life and use drugs like TV, cigarettes, and alcohol to escape from it. Now we got a whole lot of fucking problems but what's the solution? Fax machines? Cell phones? Hybrid cars? Nanotechnology?" Sardonic, and sprinkled with references to Sirius B, Behold a Pale Horse author William Cooper, and the Illuminati, one wonders if this is in fact a rapper or Robert Anton Wilson... add it to your collection and tell 'em I sent ya.

Bio

Ricky Pharoe eats break loops, sleeps in fat laces and studies hip-hop like it's rocket science. If he's not writing free styling or beat boxing, he's probably reading books on anything from alien conspiracies to marketing text books. Ricky Pharoe is a raw and visual lyricist who keeps your attetion whether he's being sarcastic or serious

On the full-length album “Civilized” Pharoe teamed up with long time friend and producer Budo (Buster Douglas) to bring the concept to life. “Civilized” is a counter attack, reverse propaganda using hypnotic cadences and catchy hooks to spread a positive message and strike back at a society that has corrupted hip-hop in every way possible. “Civilized” is a classic Hip-Hop album that finds the medium between underground and mainstream. The style and sound is different without being overly abstract. The music is easy to listen to, yet still very original.

Ricky Pharoe is quickly making a name for himself and is creating a strong fan base by putting out nothing but quality. His theatric stage show has been seen at many premier northwest venues such as: The Showbox, Nuemos, Chop Suey, The Vera Project and many more. Songs from the album “Civilized” have been heard on KUBE 93.3, KEXP 90.3, X104.5, KGRG 89.9, KZZU 92.9, and numerous college radio stations. Ricky Pharoe recently released his first music video “Over and Over” directed by Marty Martin of Imagen films. (imagenfilms.com) “Over and Over” has been viewed on various northwest television shows and is soon to be seen nationwide.

Ricky Pharoe continues to build for the future, never forgetting his one true goal: Make timeless music
