Bio

It was the racing flamenco guitar sounds of the Gipsy Kings that initially inspired Rico Espinoza to pick up the guitar in high school. Shortly afterwards, he discovered the world of flamenco music when her heard the genius guitar work of master flamenco guitarists Paco de Lucia and Vicente Amigo. These guitarists made a profound musical impact on Rico. While learning the instrument, Rico also listened to the passionate and lively Cuban and Puerto Rican sounds of salsa, cha cha, and boleros. Theses two genres were a big part of Rico's musical influences. Rico began to perform with various guitarist from Los Angeles in small to medium configurations. Within a fews years, Rico began to dedicate himself to his own music and began to perform as a soloist, with the accompaniment of a percussionist and bassist. His music is a blend of flamenco rumba (gipsy kings) but with a more dominating Latin twist. His music has been described as a signature flamenco Latin chill-lounge sound.
