Rico Marcel is an R&B/Soul singer and songwriter from Miami, FL. Born as Ricardo Marcelis Clark, he began singing at the age of 6 and soon after joined his church choir where he gained most of his early musical experience. As a teenager, Rico was introduced to Classical music and began to receive formal vocal training. During this time he was a part of his school's chorus, gospel choir, concert chorale, and Honor Choir. In his senior year in high school Rico Marcel competed in NAACP's ACT-SO in the Vocal Classical & Contemporary category. After graduating high school, Rico Marcel attended Broward College where he studied Music Education. After earning his Associates Degree he transferred to Florida A&M University to study Music Education and Choral Conducting. He was also a member of the noted Concert Choir under the direction of Mark Butler. It was during this time that Rico began working on his first EP and building his fanbase. Rico was able to build quite the following with his phenomenal songwriting and soulful vocals. Rico found many performing opportunities while in Tallahassee, including the Melanin Fest and Fuzzy Pineapple, but he was also able to create his own. While at FAMU, Rico performed by himself and with other artists at a showing of his work called Soulful Compositions; A night filled with musicians and artists performing all original Rico Marcel pieces. Rico Marcel currently resides in Atlanta, GA where he is pursuing a full-time career as a Singer/Songwriter and Performer. Since being in Atlanta, GA, Rico has had the pleasure of performing at the Apache Cafe, many recording studio shows, and the infamous Juneteenth Festival.
