Bio

Alt-country band Ride 'Em Cowboy formed on a sultry summer night in 2002 as the tumbleweed blew through town and the coyotes sang a hurtin' song. Mike "Chinese Eyes" Young had just laid his trusty six-string shooter down at the bar when in walked ex-Whipping Post singer Janet Stone. There'd been a lot of water under the bridge, a lot of whisky drunk, but the former songwriting duo decided to mend some fences - and get the gang back together.

Trouble was, they had no gang. Just then a shadowy figure up to no good stumbled into the tavern. And behind him came "Slick" Rick Norris - a bass player known for his bottom end and, as fate would have it, his good timing. He'd do fine.

Soon the gang grew with the addition of Boyd "Choirboy" Tattrie, a rhythm guitar slinger with the voice of an angel. And after losing many a drummer to the gallows and spontaneous combustion, Peter "Pistol Pete" Reali mosied into their lives and started laying down the backbeat.

A blend of rockabilly, stone country and good old honky tonk, Ride 'Em Cowboy has built a loyal following by writing and performing songs about lyin', cryin', sighin' and dyin'.

Their six song demo, recorded in June 2005, ranges from the melancholy "Nothing Left But Blue" to the crowd favourite "Lucky 13".

Ride 'Em Cowboy dream of making a full-length CD with the late Hank Williams, touring Texas in personalized Airstream trailers and getting a case of Jack on their rider.
