Ripped Veil

Ripped Veil was formed in the spring of 2004. It started as a solo act by Dayne Carraway also known as ACTSion. ACTSion was struggling with trying to find some sort of ministry, something he could do to praise God that would be totally different from anything everyone else was doing. His youth pastor who later became the manager of Ripped Veil, Koreem Mack gave Dayne the idea of gospel hip hop. Hip Hop had always been a passion of Dayne but not to do himself. He'd always been very influenced by hip hop as it was introduced to him prodominitely by his step siblings. He heavilly followed Jay-Z and some say it shows in his music. It wasn't until the idea of actually performing and writing came to him, did he start listening to gospel hip hop. He immediately fell in love with the music of Cross Movement and Da Truth. After ACTSion wrote his first song he was ready to perform at a youth group function. Koreem decided Dayne needed a hype man then Collin also known as C Note came into the picture. However when C Note showed up for the first rehearsal he had a verse written. Even though Dayne and Koreem were suprised they realized God had given this boy the gift to write. That day the group was born but under the name D.O.C. - Disciples of Christ. This name lasted two years until they found how heavily used the name D.O.C. was. It was then changed to C.L.I.P.S. - Christ Living In Poetic Sons. The life of this name was even shorter. It wasnt even a whole year until the name was changed to Ripped Veil. The group felt the name portrayed a great image for future fans to think of the group and the music. The name is based off of Matthew 27:51- "At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split." When Christ died, it allowed us to have a personal relationship with God as long as we've accepted Christ as Savior. So when Christ died and the earthquake occured the veil in the temple between the room where people could go and the Holy of Holies ripped. So it symbolized the beginning of communion with God. Right before the finding of the new name a long time friend of Dayne and Collin, Kenny also known as DJ DOO joined the Ripped Veil Family. DJ Doo has only been deejaying for a couple of years but his knowledge of music and skill and heart for ministry shows otherwise. After the acquiring of the new name and dj at the beginning of the summer in 2007, they began to record for a mixtape that was later named the "Zoning Out mixtape" finished early January 2008. They have also performend a concert at multiple Momentum Youth Conferences, Holy Hip Hop Awards 2008, multipe shows at Liberty University and multipe shows in the D.C. area. As far as the future goes they plan on reaching the world with love.
