RíRá is a seven piece contemporary trad band from Galway. Formed in 2002, the band has developed a reputation as fine entertainers, bringing a unique, infectious energy and enthusiasm to their performance. Their contemporary interpretations of traditional songs and tunes coupled with their imaginative take on contemporary pieces, has earned this band a strong following across the country and internationally.
RíRá have worked with the Saw Doctors on several occasions and played support for them in The Black Box in Galway. The last 18 months have been hectic for the group, following a very successful single release “Bring It All Your Love” the band was chosen to play at Dublin’s Hard Working class Heroes Festival.
More recently the band have completed a number of gigs in Germany, which were hugely successful and the band have also appeared on Abair Amhrán, a popular Irish music programme on TG4, Ireland’s Irish language channel, which has also featured top international Irish acts such as Paul Brady and Liam O’Maonlai of the Hot House Flowers.

July 1st, 2006: Roundstone Arts Festival
RiRa played an acoustic session to a full house as part of the Roundstone Arts festival. Other festival performers included The Walls, Roesy and Noelie McDonnell
June 30th, 2006 Barnaderg Traditional Festival
RiRa played a festival headline gig to a full house at The Red Gap in Barnaderg. Other performers included Seán Keane, Sharon Shannon, Mike McGoldrick
May 28th, 2006 TV Abair Amhrán, TG4
Abair Amhrán, a popular Irish music programme on TG4, has featured RiRa on a number of occasions – most recently showing the band performing in both emglish and as Gaeilge. This programme has recently featured top international Irish acts such as Paul Brady and Liam O’Maonlai.
April 2006, Straubing, Germany
RiRa played a number of headline gigs in Straubing, Germany and surrounding areas to sell out audiences of up to 300.
