Bio

. . . Three guys, two acoustic guitars, one cheap little cassette recorder, and 3 years later, Rise Of New Audio is a full fledged touring act looking to sonically assault the Music World with their hard-hitting rock beats. A pretty big task for these 3 determined young men out of Sacramento California. Being acknowledged as a working-class rock act is something Rise Of New Audio is quite proud of, and is why they chose to remain a power-trio in a market oversaturated with 4 and 5 piece bands. Eric Van Valer takes on guitar and lead vocal duties, Mark Dippold plays bass and sings backup, and Shayne Bond fills out their sound with powerful drum beats (not to mention Shayne and Eric are also strong piano players). And with such an invigorating and high-energy live performance one would never notice the thin lineup on stage compared to most bands. After every unpredictable show fans are amazing by how full and exhilarating the sound is by these 3 people on stage.
Eric is the primary songwriter taking melodic influences from bands like Nirvana, Foo Fighters, and The Beatles and fusing those with Shayne’s stop & go rhythms heavily influenced from bands like Refused, Thrice, and Green Day to complete a sound all their own usually classified as California Garage Rock, High-Energy Rock, or Heavy Power-Pop. And songs are one thing this band is not short of.
Having written over 50 songs for RONA, Eric had plenty of material to chose from when starting this band in the Spring of 2006 with fellow classmate Mark. Shayne then completed the lineup in the Fall and Rise Of New Audio was now a complete well oiled machine. The released their first record ‘Hollywood Abortion EP’ in October of 2006. With insufficient funds and an overabundance of motivation to be heard, Rise Of New Audio was forced to record, mix, and master their debut EP themselves having scrapped together and borrowed mics, mixers, and recorders from friends and generous studios. Hollywood Abortion EP quickly sold out of it’s first 1,000 copies giving the band enough money to professionally approach recording their next EP. RONA quickly jumped at the opportunity and released their second Self-Titled EP in March of 2007 working with producer/engineer Matt Doughty at The Puss Cavern in Sacramento and enlisting Jay Trammell for mixing/mastering duties at Fat Cat Studios. After a year full of shows and radio appearances, the band was ready to hit the studio again with over 20 new songs, most of which were debuted at various shows to an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience. Instead of releasing all the new songs at once, RONA plans on releasing 3 separate EPs through out the next 6 months focusing more on singles like they did back in the sixties.
The band is now in full swing promoting the first release of these new songs titled The 'Are You Listening? EP' recording by Jay Trammell August 2008. RONA has a string of West Coast tour dates planned and several radio stations already playing the singles ‘Are You Listing?‘ and ‘Hat's Off To You‘ off the new EP. Look out for this hard-working independent outfit, they’ll be playing at a dark sweaty club near you.
