"PREMIERE | Neela Releases Trippy Music Video to 'Tripped Up'"

Randy Radic07 June 2018
Pop sensation Neela is back with the video to her debut single, "Tripped Up". Originally from Toronto, Neela was spotted by renowned producer Beatchild at a local gig, where they immediately hit things off and began working on her upcoming EP Lovers in Danger. The single is the first collaboration between the two to be released, and the accompanying video brings the track's glossy production, melodic beats, and lyricism to life.

The video immediately reveals Neela's elegant allure, with gleaming visual effects, dazzling choreography, and picturesque shots of city life. The recurring psychedelic visuals give the video a phantasmagoric impact that supplements the dreamy, sensual vocals of the track. The beat rounds out and balances the seamless choreography carried out by Neela and her dancers, imbuing the images with cool stylishness. Shots of dance interspersed with shots of the city and nightlife, give listeners a glimpse into Neela's opulent lifestyle, while simultaneously making them want to hit up the nearest club to dance the night away.

Neela's velvety smooth voice infuses the tune with simmering, whispering eroticism roasting with suggestive seduction.

"Electro-pop singer and Performer Neela Releases Debut Single “Tripped Up”"

There are multiple ways for an artist to excel and these days it takes an exceptionally good voice and flow to stand out among the abundance of pop stars. As a multi-form artist, Neela is showcasing an eclectic take on today’s electro-pop and carries a style worthy of distinction. In a society that feeds on self-doubt, liking yourself is a brave act that Neela undeniably masters. Neela certifies the need to “embrace your own authentic self in all of its weirdness and complexities.” As she further explains, “I used to want to be a hero, now I just want to be me, I don’t have to be perfect. I create music for people to connect, to dance, to laugh, and to live in the moment”.

In Toronto, Neela was spotted by renowned producer Beatchild who is internationally acknowledged as a producer whose touch “turns to gold”. Looking at his resume this is certainly believable, having worked with Drake, Shad, and Tanika Charles who are all big names that broke out of Toronto not too long ago. Singing about confused feelings over dramatic chords in her new single “Tripped Up”, Neela gives us accessibility in her romantically relatable music. “Tripped Up” is the first release off Neela’s forthcoming EP, Lovers in Danger and it is a late-night dancefloor track with Neela’s lustful and soft vocals heard over pulsating and penetrative beats. The track exudes a sort of sexiness that perfectly feeds what is desired from a late-night dancefloor track. Her brand of sexually-charged vocals and confidence beg its listeners to fully engage and embrace-in her art , making sure not to let go for the night.

"Neela Releases Theatrical “La La La” Song and Video"

In the “La La La” song and video, Neela sings “No stress, no fear, just bass and synthesizers,” in a quiet, close-up moment near the song’s beginning. Her voice is subdued, but her ambition is unbounded, soon to be fortified by programmed EDM beats — womp-womping, blipping and dropping. The glitching upheavals of production are provided by Beatchild, who collaborated with Neela on her upcoming EP Lovers in Danger.

It’s no surprise Beatchild found the next big star in Neela, who got her start in Toronto’s theater and arts. This dramatic quality is evident in different aspects of her creative production–from the way she uses her voice to the narrative style video that she acts in. In this video, Neela plays a robot who breaks free from her grid, arriving in an unfamiliar landscape. On the other hand, the soundscape that accompanies these feature all of the elements of an EDM-crossover hit. - I Want EDM
