Rita Renee

If you have ever found yourself singing along with Oleta Adams on "Love Begins at Home", then you have already experienced the soul singer that is Rita Renee. From singing backup for the likes of Ms. Adams to travelling the world performing with "Detroit Best" children's choir (Courville Concert Choir) as a youth, Rita Renee has embodied music since she took her first breath.

The youngest of eight (8) children raised by a single mother in a disadvantaged Detroit economy, Rita found peace through song. Early in her career she was casted for radio commercials which led to a spot with Colgate-Palmolive and actor Shanygne Williams from 90s hit sitcom Family Matters. Inspired by the likes of Whitney Houston and Stevie Wonder, Rita's soulful voices is captivating and enchanting all at the same time. Her career, however, would come to a screeching halt shortly after graduating high school when she became pregnant with the first of her 4 children. Knowing that motherhood is a full time job, Rita was forced to put her dreams on the backburner in order to provide for her children. In the mist of it all, she was still able to land the lead vocalist role in a cover band called Soul Provider which not only provided additional income for her family, but gave her an outlet to continue to do what she loved the most.

In 2016, Rita Renee teamed up with upcoming Detroit talents and started to pursue her solo career again. In 2017, Rita has released 3 singles titled Struggle, Reach for the Stars, and Touch the Sky, which is available for purchase on digital outlets. Rita is now able to find that balance between the needs at home and the burning desire to be on stage sharing her gift with the world.
