Bio
RITA SLANINA was born in Warren, Ohio. She has spent much of her youth in
California with a stint in Houston as an adult. Growing up she was actively
pursuing the Olympic dream to compete in gymnastics. Quite accomplished she
was competing at exclusively high levels. She was independently trained in guitar
and piano as a child as well. Having musical influences from her father who
played guitar often around the house entertaining his family. In high school, she
began writing lyrics, books, songs as she was getting to know herself as an everconstant
and creative entity. Taking classes for theatre, music, acting, and choir
lessons, performing solo singing performances. She was active in her school,
earning a fantastic reputation for involving herself as part of the Varsity
Cheerleading squad, the newspaper team, and the Varsity Swim Team. During
high school, her parents divorced separating the family on opposite ends of the
country. Moving around a lot, jumping to two different high schools and
ultimately having her son at a young age. A lot of time spent alone learned Rita
the chance to realize that she had another talent of drawing and painting. She has
gone on to paint large canvases and ten foot tall wall murals in residents homes.
A single mom since her son was 2, she raises her son, who is quite talented
himself, while pursuing and working on her own dreams of success. Its a
balancing act that has worked out well so far. Rita Slanina has a drive and
persistence that cant be matched. A work ethic instilled in her since she was a
child through gymnastics and through the family janitorial business for which her
and her sister had to run on very few hours of sleep, get good grades in school,
excel in gymnastics practices, and help clean the clients business offices.
In music, Rita Slanina was recently heard on PlayboyRadio on Sirius/XM 102
promoting the track called Desire. A collaborative effort with SyAriDaKid and
The Trapaholics on Definition of Definition 2 out now on iTunes. Ritas Just
Stay, receive placement on a show called The Tia Pancha Show airing on
Univision. A song written and performed by Rita Slanina. Both of these songs are
also available on iTunes and receive radio airplay currently. Her record
Christmastime (written & performed by Rita Slanina) has had radio play, and
has been recognized in the past by VH1 Song of the Year Save the Music program
for lyrics and Rita, as an artist to watch. Christmastime is available for download

In books, Rita Slanina released her first published book in 2007 titled, I Write To
Be Free A Collection of Poetry & Lyric which is available for purchase in her

project for a romance novel in progress for a year now that she plans to release
late next year.
Rita Slanina has had experience in Voiceover work as well. You will find her voice
on many DJs mixes and radio drops. She also performed on a weekly show
called The Adventures of Hippie Chick, on a local public radio station in
Houston, Texas. She played multiple characters and found that quite enjoyable!
