"Introducing: River Iris - Bet on Your Love"

River Iris is a singer from Phoenix, Arizona.

She recently released her debut single Bet on Your Love, which is produced by Matt Bronleew.

The song sounds so good. I like the innovative pop melodies. Besides, the hooks are solid. Furthermore, I am also a fan of the sublime vocals and amazing harmonies.

Lyrically, the song has a lot of depth. Iris writing skills are impressive.

Speaking about the track, the singer says: ”The song is an expression of the feeling you have while reminiscing on a love that is both joyous and sad simultaneously. I hope it gives listeners a brief moment of nostalgia towards their own loves that may have come to a bittersweet end.”

"Fresh: 'Peekaboo' - River Iris"

River Iris is an exciting new music project that launched last year with her debut single, “Bet On Your Love”. River offers dream-pop, synths, electronica in her sound.

Her latest offering is the delectable, delicate “Peekaboo”, which is both hard-edged retro synth with electronic beats, while gently cruising on by as if to say “I’m not here”.

“Peekaboo” is a dreamy love story told through a retro futuristic lens. It reveals that a love so neon and technicolor can’t exist without darkness and illustrates the conflict of a feeling that is only sometimes requited. This is another big move by River on the board as she extends herself and her confidence wider each and every time and “Peekaboo” has class with an addictivness to it that should play well.

River was born in Japan and alternated annually between schools in South Carolina and California. She ‘owned’ the microphone in her hand from the age of 2 and followed this with formal voice training that began when she was 11 years old. At UC Berkeley, River received invaluable criticism and more opportunities to expand upon her creative process, learning to adapt, make changes, refine lyrics, and shift direction swiftly. Upon graduating, River was able to backpack to many countries where shelived with locals, learning their cultures, customs, foods, and embracing the beauty of people from Europe to Asia to Australia and performing in local restaurants and bars along the way. - Talk About Pop Music

Phoenix, Arizona singer and songwriter River Iris is getting started as a solo artist and is now sharing her first single release titled Bet on Your Love, the first single to come out from her upcoming debut EP.

I am really enjoying how River's distinctive and powerful vocals sound so commanding and instantly draw the listener to her lovely and relatable storytelling. I am also enjoying the lush strings that give the song somewhat of a cinematic vibe and the chorus is perfect to sing along to. Co-written with Jess Cates and produced by Matt Bronleewe, Bet on Your Love is a soft pop ballad on which River showcases her powerful vocals, packed with raw emotion, over a smooth and memorable pop production. "River Iris Debuts with the Single 'Bet on Your Love'"

“Bet on Your Love” is the first single by River Iris, a new pop artist from Phoenix, Arizona. Working with Jess Cates as co-writer and Matt Bronleewe as producer, the singer-songwriter did create a song that justifies the years she spent honing her skills. From beginning vocal lessons at the age of 11 to attending UC Berkeley years later, Iris has always been committed to pursuing music as a career. Now with her solo debut, she’s ready to showcase her talent to the world.

“Bet on Your Love” is a lovely indie-pop piece with hints of country music. Something you’ll enjoy listening to. - Aipate

"River Iris releases a lovely debut single entitled, “Bet on Your Love”"

‘Bet on Your Love’ tells an emotional tale of a young woman who takes a trip down memory lane. While there, she thinks about the only person that she would want to be with if she could turn back the hands of time. It wasn’t too long ago that this special individual kept her secrets and served as her wings when she couldn’t fly.

Apparently, this person left such a remarkable impression on her life that she wouldn’t mind them falling back in love, even though their initial relationship didn’t last. There were some things she couldn’t control and their roads never lead them back to each other. But still, she refuses to let go and continues to hold on to the blissful memories of them being together.

Being called the new kid on the block was not unusual for River Iris. Since the age of eight, she would alternate cities every year, growing accustomed to being on the move. Therefore, she had to grow up fast. Years of hard work led her to UC Berkeley, where she received valuable criticism and opportunities to expand on her creative process. Shortly after moving to Phoenix after college, she began working with a GRAMMY® nominated producer to create what will be her upcoming debut EP, featuring the lead single, “Bet on Your Love”.

Bet on Your Love’ contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the fanciful ballad possesses vibrant instrumentation scented with a commercial pop aroma. Furthermore, “Bet on Your Love” was created as a beautiful accident by Jess Cates and the artist herself. - Bong Mines Entertainment

"New Indie-Pop Single from River Iris - War"

River Iris is a blossoming singer, songwriter based in Phoenix who is about to show the world her immense talent with an upcoming EP. River was born in Japan and alternated annually between schools in South Carolina and California, an experience which she says “sparked an appreciation for change” and “furthered [her] enchantment with the creative process.” She spent time backpacking around the world after graduating from UC Berkley and learned, through her adventures, how interwoven all of our lives are. For River, music is a universal language.

She has been working with a Grammy-nominated producer to create what will be her first EP and has already given us a taste of what is to come with three singles, the latest of which is titled “War” and was released just last week. The song was co-written with Jess Cates and produced by Matthew Bronleewe.

The track starts with soft, echoing vocals set over repeating guitar riffs as lyrics begin to creep in. The lyrics are about a tumultuous relationship, once where conflict is constant. The chorus repeats the question “why does it always have to be a war”, signifying that the artist recognizes the pattern, but still finds themselves back amidst the chaos. The production is peacefully complementary, maintaining the focus on the message behind the lyrics. The song is enchantingly beautiful, yet also strikingly sad.

River has years of hard work under her belt – years of constantly writing, practicing, and performing regularly. She is showcasing it all, along with her outstanding artistry, with these singles. And I’m very excited to hear what is next from her!

You can listen to her music here, as well as “War” below. - Glasse Factory

"River Iris - First Concert Ever"

In this First Concert Ever segment, the electro pop artist, River Iris, talks about the story of her first experience with live music. You can check out the story, after the break.

Our hair was loosely pulled back by old bandanas, slightly unkempt as you would expect from rowdy children. It was the year 2000– I was 8 years old, my sister was 6 at the time. We wore frumpy white pants that looked like they were part of some sort of uniform that you couldn’t place. My sister had wanted a shirt just like mine so my Mom found one that resembled it and tried her hand at tailoring but to no avail–it still looked about 4 sizes too large. Nonetheless, we were smiling from ear to ear, we had prepared for this. We had choreographed our own dances in anticipation of it. We were headed to our first show: Britney Spears.

As it was my first concert experience I didn’t know what to expect and I had very little knowledge of “encores”. I presumed that when Britney left the stage and didn’t perform “Oops!… I Did It Again” that she was done and the show was over. I became emotional and started to cry as my parents reassured me that she would take the stage again and perform my favorite song. I was impressionable, and she was an icon. As an artist today, I understand the impact a musician can have, and that influence can often transcend generations.

Singing and performing has had a tight grasp on my heart since I was a toddler. Britney’s debut album “…Baby One More Time” was the first CD I owned. I knew every lyric to every song and sang them all constantly. I recall a prompt in grade school that asked, “What would you like to be when you grow up?” I answered, “Just like Britney Spears.” - Digital Tour Bus

"River Iris released a fantastic new track called “War”"

River Iris released a hot new track called “War” “War” will be my third single from my debut EP as a solo artist. It’s an edgy, moody track about a tumultuous relationship where conflict is constant. Even though the writer recognizes the pattern, they still find themselves back amidst the chaos, wondering, “Why does it always have to be a war?” I co-wrote the song with Jess Cates and it was produced by Matthew Bronleewe. I loved the the beat to this song so much and the background harmony. The vocals are perfect with the keyboard work. The drums and guitar are so great! "River Iris Shares New Single ‘War’"

Phoenix-based singer and songwriter River Iris has just unveiled her brand new single War, the third single to be taken from her upcoming debut EP.

I am a fan of River's distinctive and powerful vocals which are definitely the star of the song and soar effortlessly over the polished electro-pop production. Co-written with Jess Cates, War is an edgy, moody track about constant fighting in a relationship, which unfortunately is something I can relate to. River Iris sings about why does everything have to be an argument, which ends up exhausting both parties involved. I am really enjoying the infectious production packed with cool guitar riffs and bass that beautifully enhance the emotion of her storytelling. Check it out below! - Caesar Live N Loud

"River Iris Shares New Single ‘Peekaboo’"

Phoenix-based singer and songwriter River Iris has just unveiled her brand new single Peekaboo, the fourth single to be taken from her upcoming debut EP.

I am a fan of her distinctive vocals and how they soar beautifully over the infectious electro-pop production. Peekaboo is a love song wrapped around a retro-tinged production that I find quite captivating. I am particularly fond of the pulsing beat, lush synths and how the song has an overall dusky and hazy feel that beautifully backs her gorgeous vocals. One of my favourite parts of the song has to be the soaring electric guitar solo and how it is followed by lush strings and her dreamy vocals, matching the complex emotion of being in love. "River Iris — Peekaboo [Electro Pop]"

American singer-songwriter River Iris was born in Japan, she has been singing since childhood and moved very often, changing her place of residence and school every year. This period of her life turned out to be very difficult, but it brought her invaluable experience, which became a solid foundation for the creative process.

After completing her studies at Berkeley University, the artist continued to travel, visited Europe, Asia and Australia, constantly performing at local venues and recording new songs, which were released in the format of her debut mini-album "Bet on Your Love" last spring. She is currently hard at work on new material and last week released her new single "Peekaboo" which perfectly showcased her impressive vocal skills and talent for beautiful melodies.

Great track for a weekend in good company.

"River Iris Showcases Rhythmic Lullaby Sounds in 'Peekaboo'"

Powerhouse vocalist River Iris has just released her fourth single, “Peekaboo,” off of her upcoming debut EP. While music has been a critical part of her entire life – she had a microphone in her hand at the age of 2, had formal voice training starting at the age of 11, and continued her creative process at UC Berkley – it hasn’t been until recently that she has really found her own unique sound.

Born in Japan and then alternating annually between schools in South Carolina and California, River learned to embrace change in her life from an early age. She has used that appreciation for change to develop her creative process, a place where she says she is “free to be childlike and playful.” For River, music is a universal language and has always been a form of release and a place of exhileration.

“Peekaboo” is a rhythmic lullaby that marks her first release of 2021. She released a handful of singles last year, including “War.” The twinkly and reverbing production creates a dusky, twilight feel which lends itself perfectly to the hazy musings of the vocals. The leisurely beat is comprised of layered synths that build an atmospheric sound that is equal parts captivating and meditative. River’s airy vocals effortlessly glide above the pulsating and entrancing bassline as the lyrics flutter between electrifying instrumental elements. - Glasse Factory

"River Iris: 'Consider Me Confused'"

River Iris doesn’t hold anything back on Consider Me Confused. This song is a powerful anti-love anthem that’s both symbolic and empowering. The lyrics describe the story of a manic lover who’s enamored by her muse. They represent the broken promises and illusions given to those of us who walk to the ends of the Earth for the ones we love.

In this particular case, the production is absolutely fantastic. The guitars are front and center, and the melodies are catchy enough to linger in your memory long after you’ve heard the song. Pop rock has never sounded so good. From the first notes that ring out on the guitar, the listener is hit with a powerful punch of emotion. Iris has the kind of voice that could melt an ice cap in under a minute flat, and her writing is among the most compelling you’ll ever come across. It’s inspiring to see an artist with so much talent in the industry. - Lefuturewave
