Bio
What happens when you combine a 4-octave singer with metal roots; a high-octane drummer with fusion and jazz undertones; a charismatic guitarist who can play anything; and a bassist committed to driving the beat with unabashed passion? River Of Disdain happens. Emerging from the Seattle/Tacoma/Portland triangle, Rocky Anderson, Rick Belmore, Paul Ingram & Jimbo Sabado, are engaging a rapidly growing fan base.
Noted author, journalist and music business consultant, Dan Kimpel, puts it this way: “Through words that are sharpened by personal, political and social themes; framing plaintive vocals against an autumnal soundscape; rock roots and hypnotic melodies are an interwoven counterpoint that resonates with purpose and intensity. [River of Disdain’s songs are] tinted in subtle shades of electronica and atmosphere. The songs connect: Speaking to the economic realities of 21st Century American lives, Pocket Full of Change, is a prime example of the band’s thematic approach, as a jagged guitar line and relentless snare leads into the panoramic expanse of a massive, anthemic chorus.” “Similarly,” Dan continues, “the song Tea Leaves echoes with disenchanted overtones of contemplation and resolve. This widescreen approach is echoed in the band’s cinematic resonance and the collective clarity of their vision.“
River Of Disdain is quickly ramping up their presence. Between radio airplay, live shows and national events (ROD finished 31st out of more than 3,000 bands in the Converse “Get Out Of The Garage” music contest). Wade Pose posted on River of Disdain's Wall. "Ear candy for the brain…. You guys rocked Chop Suey! I have never seen a club shut up and listen so fast- OMG jaws were hitting the floor during your opening number!" River Of Disdain is already delivering what their fans want—to hear more!
