OVERPLAY.COM's Play & Rate competition voted for by the public and industry players such as EMI, POLYDOR/Fiction, EPIC, Touche Records, voted FALL no.2 in their competition to find the best unsigned song across music genres.

"The understated passion of the vocal gently massages your ear holes as the stripped-back guitars, organ and drums gradually layer-up the sonic duvet. It’s got the honest delivery and pared-down production to make it the kind of pure, soulful number Richard Ashcroft would eat his aviators for." </b></I>

"Already artist of the week winners, we've now decided to upgrade them
to artist of the month winners. And, the reason lies in their effortless
ability to write some of the most beautiful rock songs around.
Shimmering guitars and soaring vocals combine to make an extremely
powerful rock offering, and it's with no hesitation on our part that we
think they are the band of the month." - Karmadownload.com

"Riverstate deliver an epic torchsong for all you Miss Lonelyhearts out there. A strong vocal delivery and some delicate guitar work make FALL a killer indie rock anthem. However, they can also write the big rock tunes as well, and Say Something shows a deft ability to write a stadium sized tune. Big sounds, big band, we're expecting even bigger things from them." - Karmadownload.com

"With its chiming guitars and melodic keyboard drone, Say Something swells with the romanticism and beauty of U2 circa The Joshua Tree - to great effect " - dogmanet.org

Bio

RIVERSTATE are three brothers Tom (lead vocals, guitar), Jim (bass, vocals) and Ed Tyler (lead guitar), in addition to Oli Gardner (keyboards, vocals) and Andrew Bouincontro (drums). The Tyler brothers and Oli are all from the West Midlands, but now live in London. Despite going to school only half a mile apart and playing in bands around their home town, the boys never met Oli until a mutual friend introduced them. Having seen Oli play the prestigious John Peel stage at Glastonbury, the boys were very keen to get him onboard. Andrew, a native of Vermont USA, joined the band as the drummer in 2006 after Tom moved from behind the kit to the take lead vocalist and rhythm guitar position. So 3 brothers became 5 and RIVERSTATE was born.

As for the rest we'll let other say it for us.

OVERPLAY International Unsigned Song Compeition on FALL
"The understated passion of the vocal gently massages your ear holes as the stripped-back guitars, organ and drums gradually layer-up the sonic duvet. It’s got the honest delivery and pared-down production to make it the kind of pure, soulful number Richard Ashcroft would eat his aviators for."
Since then the same group of judges have voted 2 more songs number 2 and 3 in the same competition.
On GIVE "This is a spiky shuffle that somehow mixes Linkin Park moodiness with edgy Police-style flair. The melody slowly blossoms, chests swell with emotion and everybody feels a bit sad, but rather stylish at the same time."

Doubter rated no. 3 "Wobbly keyboards and interestingly introspective vocals help to show off a strong melody on this sophisticated mixture of 10CC and Supertramp, which, unlike anything by The Feeling, understands that cheese isn’t always a mandatory ingredient"
