Bio

They're not kids anymore, though most of them were at one time or another. They are, however, all long-time musicians with day jobs and a mutual love for playing good-time classic rock, funky blues and all kinds of other stuff.

Based in Montgomery, Alabama, Riversyde has played conferences, clubs and special events across the state from Point Clear to Tuscaloosa since forming in 1998.

Chris "Hollywood" Burge has been playing guitar since he was old enough to bite his own fingernails. Touring across the Southeast throughout the 80s in the seminal professional garage band Gibralter, Chris honed a style that's 2 parts Toy Caldwell, 1 part Stevie Ray Vaughan, 3 parts Billy Gibbons and a yet-to-be-determined quantity of Eric Clapton. This makes Chris one of the few 6-plus part players in the greater Montgomery metropolitan area!

Doug Freeland, frontman and father figure, began singing in acoustic folk trios in 1972 before migrating to full country/Southern rock bands on vocals and harp. Doug picked up his first guitar in the 80s but immediately put it down again. Since teaming with Chris in 1997, however, he's developed a unique spaz guitar style that fills in the gaps whenever Chris and B.J. are dueling. Bitten by the funky blues bug in 90s, he has yet to find a cure.

Drummer Larry Morrow is among Montgomery's most sought-after percussion men.
