2AM’S RELEASE OF FIRST SINGLE “GREED,” WITH MIAMI PRODUCTION LABEL RLAB PRODUCTIONS
CORAL GABLES, FL – October 28, 2007 – Miami hip-hop trio 2am has finally announced the much-anticipated release of their first single “Greed.” 2am has partnered up on this project with local production label RLab productions, headed by esteemed producer and engineer Ross LaBrie. With the fresh talent and innovative urban style brought by 2am meshed with the production expertise and creative genius of Ross LaBrie, “Greed” is sure to be a smash hit and take the market by storm.
Envisioned in early 2004 and finally established in January 2005, 2am is a hip-hop power trio made up of Kendall, FL natives Nick, Dellicks, and Ivan. Bridging the gap between rugged hip-hop, rap, rock and reggae, their innovative style has been compared to the likes of the Gym Class Heroes and the Beastie Boys. “Greed” ‘s upbeat rhythm is anchored with its classic break beat backbone, and it’s super catchy hook is sure to stay with listeners for days.
Brought together by chance at a local Miami music venue, 2am crossed paths with Ross LaBrie of RLab productions and immediately new that his creative influence and production techniques were exactly what they needed to take their music to the next level. Having worked with such artists as Jim Jones, Life Underground, and Cool & Dre, LaBrie was able to refine the signature “live” sound of 2am by adding the influence of classic rock and roots reggae, making it perfect for an album release.
“Working with RLab Productions on this project has been a dream for us and has opened our eyes to types of music that we would have never explored without this partnership. Our music has reached has reached a level where it is ready for release to the general public and I am sure that our innovative approach to hip-hop is undoubtedly going to fill a void in the urban genre of music,” Says Ivan of 2am. The group can be found performing at venues across South Florida and with the release of their first single “Greed,” the release of 2am’s debut album is sure to be expected early next year. Bio
Ross LaBrie, sole proprietor of RLab Productions, comes from a very well versed educational background. Growing up in a suburb of Boston, Mass., Ross was exposed to the diverse Boston music scene at a very early age. He began playing the drums at age 10 and quickly became one of the most recognizable up and coming musicians in the area. While attending King Philip Regional High School, recognized across the country for its music program, Ross not only studied percussion, but theory, composition, jazz, and classical as well. This knowledge led to his acceptance into the world renowned Music Engineering program at the University of Miami. Throughout his four years at UM, Ross gained knowledge in areas such as electrical engineering, recording studio design and operation, advanced recording and mixing techniques, along with percussion and piano performance and extensive music theory and ear training. This solid educational background combined with his almost two years of commercial recording studio engineering experience has given Ross the tools necessary to provide a production service in RLab Productions that is second to none and guarantees a fun, unique, quality experience to all of its clients.
