R L Lewis

I started off singing in the church choir, and I have performed at clubs such as the High Note Cafe, the Moonlight Cafe, the Highland Cafe, and a Christian club called Krunk for Christ with rapper Tha Programmer. I have also performed at house parties respectively 2000, 2001 and 2005.

I am a music producer, arranger and songwriter. My interest in music started early, but I credit the year of 1992 when I started my music tracks. I have worked with many local artists frm Alabama, Maryland, New York and Washingon, D.C. where I did pre-production work with major recording artist Raheem DeVaughn (Jive Records). I took one semester at the University of the District of Columbia (U.D.C.) for the business of music in which entertainment lawyer Lita Rosario taught. She is credited with assisting the discovery of Dru Hill, Mya, and Pure Soul from University Records.

I aspire to become the best and most successful music producer, arranger and songwriter I can be. I specialize in the field of R&B music, but also produce tracks for Rap/HipHop artists as well. I plan to take what I've learned and pass it along to others.

I sing in the range of baritone.

My music has a touch of smooth R&B/HipHop, Jazz, and Neo Soul variances. My songs are mostly about love, but also fun club jams, and political and liberation styled cuts.

My influences are Prince, Charlie Wilson, Jimmie Jam & Terry Lewis, Donnie Hathaway, and Stevie Wonder.
