A great neo-garage/psych trio from the Appalachia Mountains, The Whitefields Band, has just become one of my favorite psych (progressive retro) finds. They're tuned into all the right wave-lengths: Pink Floyd, Miles Davis, Albert King, 60s UK blues, Sun Ra, and MC5, among others. - MP34U
Ahh The Blues…. This is the hardest genera of music to review in my opinion. You can’t cut it up and you can’t compare it to anything at all. So the best way for me to write this review is to tell you exactly how it made me feel. Isn’t that what the blues are about anyway?!

Robert Lee Whitefield started performing in the 1960's and has played on the Lodge circuit, the VFW's AMvets, county fairs, hundreds of bars and night clubs. He has also opened for over 25 international acts such as Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, Johnny Paycheck, the Bellamy Brothers, Merle Haggard and many, many more. He has worked with members of Johnny Cash's Band, with members of the Pure Prairie League, Aretha Franklins band and countless others.
Robert Lee has been a featured artist at the Kalamazoo International Blues Festival and performed at numerous musical conferences around the country.
He is currently signed with Whimsical records in Scotland who will be releasing RLW material this fall. Robert Lee has also had his material included on movie soundtracks, and has publishing deals with two music publishers. He is a member of ASCAP. He spends much of his time doing studio work and has been preparing to go the road with his solo act.
