Bio

Combining influences from the roots of jazz, bluegrass, blues, funk, and rock, Road Waves is constantly pushing new boundaries, and is an up and coming 4-piece, improvisational act with a huge dose of energy.  With fresh sounding originals inspired by the likes of The Beatles,  Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead and more, they are sure to invigorate and liven up any audience - and with covers/tributes as soulful and jam packed as their musical predecessors - Road Waves will have you thinking about them long after they play.

The improvisational and conversational aspect in the music, as well as the lack of safety nets, opens up a direct relationship with the present moment and a unique experience with each audience. They simply cannot rehearse the unknown factors involved in the  audience's and venue's ever changing energies, which allows them to tailor their set lists in order to acheive a more special and unified experience. Through this state of unity -  A bond of trust is formed, and it is that exact reciprocal energy that helps manifest the elements of a show filled with character and spirit.

At every show, Road Waves is reaching for the stars (and beyond), to see what can be found. The Idea behind improvising a large portion of the sets, is a risk. Although without the risk of creating unpleasant noises, there is no option to achieve a new sound, feeling, emotion, or most importantly that magical place that is most difficult to explain. Come hear that magic for yourself; A ride from the macro(universe) to the micro(instruments) rippling through the vastness on the melodies of curiosity - their curious minds constantly unraveling. Receiving the energy from the other half of the stage (the audience) is how they achieve the means to articulate their curious thoughts, in turn reciprocating their energy back and creating a cyclone of freedom, fun and a vast field of expression.

Road Waves released their debut album entitled 'The Lighthouse' on May 15th, 2015.

They look forward to the winding Road Waves ahead.
