Debut album: “IF ALL ELSE FAILS”
Galway based Indie/ folk band, Roadbloc, are made up of Caroline Doohan (25) and Simon Noble (25). Although Caroline can't quite remeber their first meeting!!!the pair met at a party in Galway in 2005, where Simon heard Caroline sing. Simon who was a fan of the distortion pedal and a member of rock band, The Mesons, was looking to record a project that was a bit more quirky and so came the birth of Roadbloc...bless...
Caroline born in Falcarragh, Co. Donegal was raised on a mixture of alternative and folk music, both traditional, which she sang with her family and more populist; counting The Cowboy Junkies, Bob Dylan and Tom Waits as her favourite artists. Simon was a child of the Brit pop era in Oxford England. He found his musical nirvana listening to Radiohead, Supergrass, Blur and The Kinks.
With both interests in mind, Simon went to work writing a collection of songs that would encompass both tastes and their individual voices. In January 2006 Roadbloc decided to bring their cultivated material to the studio where they recorded their debut album, “IF ALL ELSE FAILS”.
The album reflects our passion for music and song, but above all, it is an honest record and we hope that people enjoy the record as much as we do. Our record will be available free of charge to download at www.roadbloc.com and www.myspace.com/roadbloctheband...
