"Roadside Prophets" is a Christian music ministry located in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. We have a very well defined and focused mission: to use our God-given talent to deliver the Lord's Word through music to as many people as we can - this includes our brothers and sisters who are not in the Word. We are a band that takes our ministry and music seriously.
The band was officially formed by Keith Nieves and Charlie Oross in Jan. 2010. Although we don't like to be categorized, the "Roadside Prophets" sound has an undeniable link to the classic rock sound of the 60s and 70s. It doesn't take long to hear the influence of early hard rock, southern rock, and blues.
The band consists of (in alphabetical order) Crazy Charlie Oross on bass, lead and backing vocals, grunts and growls, Keith Nieves on lead and backing vocals, Mark Negron on lead and rhythm guitars, Ronnie Sciascia on drums, various percussion - including pots and pans. All members are 20+ year veterans of the tri-state area music scene.
The "Roadside Prophets" first gig was at Rushing Wind Biker Church in the spring of 2010. We have also done large outdoor events such as a Sunday sermon with Pastor Ski at the ABATE Biker Campout held at Cathedral Pines this past August. Recently, we played a Christmas show at Rushing Wind Biker Church in which Pastor Z, founder of Bikers For Christ, attended and gave a sermon.
We have been signed to GSR Records and our first CD will be released in the spring of 2011.
