Bio

Rob Snyder began his life in Roswell, Georgia, where tunes of classic country and southern rock played the soundtrack to his youth and laid the foundation of musical influence. As a child, Snyder was influenced by both of his grandfathers, one wrote short stories, and the other was a seasoned drummer. After relocating to West Chester, Pennsylvania for his fathers business, Snyder picked up his dads guitar and never looked back.

Snyder began writing his own songs and played in a band for four years where he began experimenting with style and other genres. Snyder drew from his strong background in southern rock and traditional country, yet still taking influence from music across the spectrum ranging from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Sublime and Merle Travis, Kris Kristofferson, and Waylon Jennings. Years following high school, Snyder took a detour and tried the college route putting music on the back burner.

After graduating from Villanova University, Snyder landed a job in sales, which allowed him to live a very comfortable life. But deep down, he could not live with the fact that he wasnt following his dream and listening to his heart. He quit his comfortable life and started playing music full time around West Chester, while working part-time in construction. He made a name for himself in the quaint college community, playing sold-out shows, building his fan base, and writing real music from the heart, with no strings attached. But it wasn't enough.

After a few years of battling with the decision, Snyder finally picked up and moved to Nashville with no more than a van and a few dollars to his name. He knew he had to check his pride at the door, and even on his worst days, when he didnt have money for food, he was glad to be in Music City. I still wake up with a smile on my face every day because I know deep in my heart, that Im in the right place.

A combination of northern grit and southern heart, his writing and ability relate to country music fans as well as fans of all music genres. Snyder is who he is, on and off the stage. "I've tried to write the same old, bottle of Jack, pickup truck, pop country songs before. I mean really tried. But I can't sing or write passionately about all that. I'm poor, drink Natty, and drive a minivan," he joked.

At first glance, one may be intimidated by his sheer size, and maybe raise an eyebrow at the many tattoos, and occasional beard. In actuality, those tattoos are tales of friends, hardships or a favorite memory. A closer look shows a man who has seen both sides of the tracks, someone who has lived. Many would agree that the humble and honest Snyder is the perfect example of an "American". "It's an open book policy with my songs. You listen to one and you know plenty about me. I don't hide anything. Its the only way I know how to write."

Rob Snyder has begun to make a name for himself in Nashville as he lives by his fathers words, You have to be willing to outwork everybody.
