When the World as we know it ceases to be Robbie Dunn

When the World as we know it ceases to be

Written by: Robbie Dunn

When the world as we know it ceases to be [Robbie Dunn]
When the world as we know it ceases to be
When there's no birds singing on scented trees
No flowers showing their colors to the honey bee
No butterflies dancing for you and me

As the ice caps melt and the seas they rise
Then the Cities disappear under rising tides
And the gas that's laid dormant beneath the ocean floor
Rises to the surface and the temperatures soar

To light the spark of our funeral pyre
Our lungs they burn because the Earth's on fire
We can't look our children in the eye
Because we're the fools that lived the lies

That has consumed this planet our mother earth
The very same mother that had given us birth
We've devoured her beauty by deceit and greed
And brought our mother crashing crashing to her knees

When the world as we know it ceases to be
Because there' no birds singing on scented trees
No flowers showing their colors to the honey bee
No butterflies dancing for you and me

No lovers walking watching whales go by
No eagles soaring in a clear blue sky
And as the last creature on earth lies down to die [slow down here]
There'll be no one left to hear its last [Stop] sigh
When the world as we know it ceases to be
When there's no birds singing on scented trees
No flowers showing their colors to the honey bee
No butterflies dancing for you and me

God makes funny looking angels

Written By: Robbie Dunn

God makes funny looking angels
www.robbiedunn.com

God makes funny looking angels
They come in every shape and size
God makes funny looking angels
To help us through the walk of life

Angels come in many shapes and sizes
Some are fat some are tall and bald
Some are real good looking
Some are good at cooking
Shape and size don’t matter at all

Angels watch our children cross the road
It’s a friend who calls to help us share the load
It’s a dad drying up a tear
The millions of volunteers
They don’t need to be told

In this world there is the shakers and the makers
Then we have the givers and the takers
You can make a difference too
The answers lie inside of you
Cause god needs funny looking angels

Irish Wedding song

Written By: www.Robbie Dunn.com

Irish Wedding song
County Clare Ireland Sept 2009
To Bob Aoife and Alex [love the da]

We are gathered here together in this moment and this space
To bear witness and to celebrate
The joining together of husband and wife
As they set on the journey along the road of life

As we stand here on this sacred spot where the boats they came ashore
Oh the ancient Irish ten thousand years or more
Their spirits they are with us yet sure I can hear them say
May god’s love be about you? And guide you on your way

You’re the wind that shakes the barley the cross within the tomb
The flight of the wild geese your the rising of the moon
The flowers out on the Burren it’s a new born baby’s cries
You’re the mountains rivers lakes and streams beneath an Irish sky

Yes you are the ancient Irish the cross within the tomb
Its babies Keian and Alex Fruit of their mother’s wombs
You’re the hurler the piper you’re the rosin on the bow
Oh the rhythm of life as she ebbs and flows

The wonders of creation the Salmon in the pool
The essence of the love that permeates this room
And the riddle of the universe is carved upon the stones
When you comprehend the oneness you’ll never walk alone

So Bobby and Aoife as you set out on the road
And have no fear about you no matter where you roam
For the trinity of life was carved upon the stones
By the ancient Irish all those years ago

Look into the Mirror say I love you

Written By: Robbie Dunn

Look into the mirror
www.robbiedunn.com

When you look in the mirror tell me what you see
Are you the loving person you are meant to be?
Can you look back on your life and say “I tried my best”
Are you gentle with yourself do you take your rest?
Chorus
Did you take the time to let the child out to play?
Go riding on a bicycle down country lane
Sail across a deep blue ocean hear the birds cry
Lie down with your lover beneath a starry sky?

We are all responsible for what is in our life
The job the car the house the kids the husband or the wife
Try not point the finger I heard a Scotsman say
Acceptance is the key when life when life don’t go your way

So spread a little care as you go about each day
Love is so beautiful when you see it work both ways
All you need is inside of you this I do believe
It’s there you’ll find the person that you are meant to be

So look into the mirror and say “I love you”
Try to forgive yourself for all that you’ve been through?
Let go of the past set your spirit free
To be the loving person that you’re meant to be
