Bio

Since he first began playing songs on the piano for his friends at a sleepover at the age of twelve, Robbie Jimenez has been entertaining audiences with his music including performances in Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and New York.

Drawing comparisons to contemporary artists John Mayer, Jason Mraz, and Amos Lee to name a few, Robbie combines soulful melodies with personal stories of perseverance, love, and triumph to compose, record, and perform multiple original songs ranging from the reflective “A Part of My Life” to the ambitious “It’s My Time.”

However, it’s his on-stage presence, musicianship, and connection with the audience that sets Robbie apart from other performers and makes him a must-see attraction for any fan of contemporary music.

A self-taught bassist from the City of Vacaville, Robbie has honed his bass chops playing with several local bands growing up including Budapeg, Body Electric, and the Crosson Brothers Band. Renowned not only for his technical playing ability, Robbie is able to fuse rock, soul, funk and even orchestral music into a unique blend of high energy, high impact performances that leave his audiences yearning for more.

Robbie compiled an 8-person rock orchestra which performed original music from his debut album Invincible in a send-off concert prior to Robbie leaving for school. The concert was so well-received that Robbie and his orchestra performed an encore concert the following year in response to the demand.

Since being diagnosed with hearing problems as a young child and being told that he would probably never be a great communicator or address large audiences, Robbie has done that and more through his music, utilizing other natural gifts such as perfect pitch and synesthesia, which is the ability to project a mental picture or color associated with a musical note or pitch, and project that into the music.

Robbie recently completed his second year of studying musical composition at the University of Arts and is taking time off from school to focus on expanding his performing career and recording his follow-up album to Invincible. Robbie will be performing at venues throughout California this fall and can be followed on Facebook, Twitter, and at www.Robbiej.net.
