"Robbie Sinclair Credits"

Every once in a while an artist comes along that has not been over-exposed to death, but who appears poised on the edge of doing something truly great. Robbie Sinclair, who I met earlier this year, strikes me as precisely that type of artist. Upon hearing his music, I couldn’t help but think he was on to something, and headed in the right direction. After meeting him, I knew that was the case. - Mike Devlin, Source: Times Colonist

"Exploring sound barriers; Robbie Sinclair's work in Electroacoustic Studies is taking him in unusual directions"

Robbie Sinclair is often told how much he reminds people of Grammy-winning singer...Lucas Haneman. The four friends put together what would later become Robbie Sinclair and the Beggars Laughing, a rootsy group with a solid musical foundation... - Mike Devlin, Source: Times Colonist

Bio

Victoria born singer songwriter Robbie Sinclair moved to Montreal in 2004 to pursue Electroacoustic Studies at Concordia University. In the first two years of his studies he self produced The Reflective Perspective (2005) and Well Within (2006). These original albums captured a sincere and promising songwriter at the dawn of his career. Both albums continue to inspire listeners across Canada.

In 2010 he teamed up with Elijah Baker (drums), Stephane Joyce (bass) and Lucas Haneman (guitar). Together they developed a sound that harnessed elements of folk, rock, funk, world music and reggae. This paring of unique musical talents hit the Montreal music scene by storm. In July 2011 the band released its debut album, Boundary Lines, and toured this album across Canada.

Sinclair's emotionally gripping songwriting conveys spiritual insights from personal travels and meditations, relationship experiences, universal themes of personal and community growth, and sincere social commentary. The band as a whole supports Sinclair's songwriting with groove and tasteful musicality.

Currently, members of the Beggars Laughing are on hiatus, touring their own projects, while Sinclair continues to produce and perform, bringing his dynamic and intense presence to stages across Western Canada.

Sinclair will be touring throughout western Canada in the spring and summer of 2012, playing at festivals, dance workshops, and a variety of other venues.
