"Watch the Slimy, Surreal Video for Robbing Millions’ “Warder”"

Like a heavier take on the Radiohead-inspired psychedelia of Alt-J, Belgian 5-piece Robbing Millions’ “Warder” is music for a trance, plodding out of silence into a stomping, stilted beat that gives way to moments of beauty and chaos in equal measure—a formula tied together by the floating vocals of singer Lucien Fraipont.

The Marine Dricot-directed video for “Warder” properly captures the song’s aesthetic and build in its concerted surreality. Drawing on the style of seventies Giallo horror films, it creates an atmosphere that’s as carefully manicured as it is eerie—an askew vision of domestic life that becomes more unsettling as the video progresses.

Watch above and get lost for four minutes and fourteen seconds. - Pigeons and Planes

"Listen to a new song from Robbing Millions, 'Warder' [405 Premiere]"

Having opened for Palma Violets recently, you'd expect Brussels based 5-piece Robbing Millions to be a relatively safe sounding band. Think again. On their new single 'Warder', which you can stream below, you'll find a song that flies under the banner of 'alt-pop', but with a huge amount of 'WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST EXPERIENCE' soul.

In fact, trying to describe the connections this song makes is a pointless endeavour, and completely against the mission statement of the song itself. Put simply, it's unlike anything we've heard in quite some time. Damn. - The Four Oh Five

Welcome to the bizarro-sound world of ROBBING MILLIONS, a band unlike anything we've heard in quite some time. UK blog www.thefouroffive.com couldn’t have used a better way to describe this Brussels-based 5-piece.

Debuting in 2013 with a self-produced EP called ‘Ages and Sun’, the bands dreamy, psychedelic songs, loaded with syncopated rhythms and breezy lo-fi synths immediately started to buzz their way through the Belgian and French alternative music scene. Robbing Millions got invited to play several prestigious festivals just months after their start-up (Les Nuits Botaniques, Les Ardentes, Dour festival, Boomtown and Deep In The Woods) and supported bands such as Metronomy, Palma Violets, Girls in Hawaii and Babyshambles in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Switzerland.

The band got selected by Belgian’s most famous concert venue AB (Ancienne Belgique) as one of their ‘artist in residence’ in 2014 and played over 70 shows over the past 12 months, including Le Printemps De Bourges  and Pukkelpop.

Both tracks ‘Tenshinhan’ and ‘Ritualistic’ were in rotation on all Belgian national radio stations. During European showcase festival GLIMPS in December 2014, Tenshinhan was chosen as ‘perhaps the most exciting song of the whole festival line-up’ by an international panel of experts.

Robbing Millions ended 2014 with a sold out AB Club show in Brussels and several of their concerts made it to Belgium's best-of end-of-year lists here.

Robbing Millions is currently recording their debut album which will be mixed by Nicolas Vernhes (Deerhunter, The War on Drugs, Animal Collective) in his Brooklyn-based Rare Book Room studio in October 2015.
