Review of Performance at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, August 12, 2016
By Leslie Criger
It's moments like these that I wish I was a great writer. I would love to articulate to this FB world how incredible the Robby Roberson band was live at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts tonight. We bought their new album waves and listened to it on the way home And we're still blown away.
If you are looking for a new band to become a super fan for, I recommend you checking out their next available show. Www.robbyroberson.com
If you're lucky to see them when they have Ron Rutowski playing fiddle, that is an extreme bonus!!!! That man was outstanding!
Don't disappoint me FB friends. Try on some new music. ;-)
Thank you Robby Roberson, keep up the great work! - N/A

"New concert series on PBS features faculty, ASU alumni"

Among the instructors performing in the series is ASU School of Life Sciences professor Robby Roberson, who spent his first semester at college as a music major. He was never able to read music, so he pursued a major in biology. Roberson plays regularly at local venues, benefits and music festivals and was selected as a finalist in the Singer/Song Writer Competition at the 2010 Tucson Folk Festival. - Arizona State University

Thoroughly soaked in a soul enriching performance last night by my friend Robby Roberson and his band at Scottsdale Performing Arts. Hit high on every mark--rich vocals, instrumentals, impactful lyrics, beautiful energy and more. You need to put their concerts high on your list. I will make an effort to post upcoming events. And Robby, Sweet Milk and Cornbread....ahhhh. My DaddyPa (grandpa) lived on that down in Oklahoma near the Texas border ☺️ Always touches my heart -

Last night, Friday, Brenda and I attended the concert by the Robby Roberson Band at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts. Since then I have been thinking and trying to put his music into some kind of genre, but I can’t. It doesn’t meet the requirements of Jazz, or bluegrass, or rock, so I would guess you would have to say that it is in a class all by itself, which is a good thing. Robby writes good songs, leads his bandmates with almost wild abandon, and the result is a wondrously good time. Brenda and I are very glad we went. The music that flowed out of the group had the audience dancing in the aisles. I for one, would highly recommend checking out the group if you get the chance, you will enjoy, you will enjoy - N/A
