What Are We Gonna Do

Written By: Robby Hopkins

Say “you’re not gonna fall this time
Like other times before”
Well I’ve been hurt a time or two
And said “that ain’t gonna happen no more”
We’ll keep everything on the table
So nobody gets hurt when we’re through
Yeah, that’s, what we say we’re gonna do

(Chorus)
What are we gonna do when you turn out to be the girl I hoped you’d be
And you’re telling all of your friends that you can’t get enough of me
When you’re on my mind, and I know I’m on your mind too
Yeah tell me, what are we gonna do

When you can get into my apartment
And I’ve got a key to your car
We’re taking lunches together
And taking things just a little too far
When you’re momma and daddy call to say
They think I’d be good for you
Tell me, what are we gonna do

(Chorus)
What are we gonna do when you turn out to be the girl I hoped you’d be
And you’re telling all of your friends that you can’t get enough of me
When you’re on my mind, and I know I’m on your mind too
Yeah tell me, what are we gonna do. . .

When you turn out to be, the girl I hoped that you would be
And you’re telling all of your best friends that you can’t get enough of me
When you’re on my mind, and I know I’m on your mind too
Hey tell me, what are we gonna do
Hey tell me, what are we gonna do
Baby tell me, what are we gonna do

My Kinda Girl

Written By: Robby Hopkins

No, the boys won’t let her be
Says she’s saving all of her kisses up - just for me
My kinda girl
Laughs at all my stupid jokes
Comforts me every time my heart gets broke
My kinda girl

Oooouh-Oooouh-Oooouh
My kinda girl
Oooouh-Oooouh-Oooouh
My kinda girl

She’s pretty and she’s smart
Hardly ever falls apart
Oh, but when she does - she runs to my arms
Now and then she’s serious
And sometimes she’s mysterious – oh but I don’t mind
She’s my kinda girl

Oooouh-Oooouh-Oooouh
My kinda girl
Oooouh-Oooouh-Oooouh
My kinda girl

(Tag)
Every body wants what I’ve got
Stands by me no matter what

Oooouh-Oooouh-Oooouh
My kinda girl
Oooouh-Oooouh-Oooouh
My kinda girl

Holds me close, holds me right
Likes to dance and hold me tight – She can go all night
My kinda girl

Oooouh-Oooouh-Oooouh
My kinda girl
Oooouh-Oooouh-Oooouh
My kinda girl

Dangerous Side of Me

Written By: Robby Hopkins

I don’t want any trouble
But I ain’t the backing down kind
You mind your own business and I’ll mind mine
I don’t deal well with drama
Won’t throw in my two cents
Most days I’d say I’m easy to get along with

(Chorus)
There’s a dangerous side of me
That you don’t really wanna meet
My momma thinks I’m sweet and I know she would never believe
I can take things a little too far
I’ll come to where you are
People say its bad blood and I reckon it might be
But there’s a dangerous side of me

I had a talk with my neighbor
When he jumped on my little boys
He said they’d been out in the yard making too much noise
I don’t think he was quite ready for all that he had in store
And it’s safe to say he doesn’t feel that way any more

(Chorus)
There’s a dangerous side of me
That you don’t really wanna meet
My momma thinks I’m sweet and I know she would never believe
I can take things a little too far
I’ll come to where you are
People say its bad blood and I reckon it might be
But there’s a dangerous side of me

(Tag)
Don’t mess with my kids
Don’t kick my dog
Don’t flirt with my wife
Don’t come around here crossing the line and we won’t have to fight

(Chorus)
There’s a dangerous side of me
That you don’t really wanna meet
My momma thinks I’m sweet and I know she would never believe
I can take things a little too far
I’ll come to where you are
People say its bad blood and I reckon it might be
But there’s a dangerous side of me

People say its bad blood and I reckon it might be
But there’s a dangerous side of me
Dangerous side of me
Good ole boys like me

You'll Think of Me and Cry

Written By: Robby Hopkins

He’ll put on some love song radio
Turn all the lights down low
And whisper, “Everything’s gonna be all right”
You’ll hold each other just like lovers do
He ain’t got a thing to lose
When you’re through – you’ll hate to say goodbye
And later on, you’ll think of me and cry

(Chorus)
You think he loves you but he doesn’t love you
And the way he makes you feel is a real disguise
He says he needs you but he doesn’t need you like I do
And the truth is – it’s all a lie
And later on, you’ll think of me and cry

You promise him you’re leaving soon
In your heart you know it ain’t true
Cause I’m not giving up without a fight
You want him but you still love me
It was hard at first to see
But you were wrong for thinking – he was Mr. Right

(Chorus)
You think he loves you but he doesn’t love you
And the way he makes you feel is a real disguise
He says he needs you but he doesn’t need you like I do
And the truth is – it’s all a lie
And later on you’ll think of me and cry

(Tag)
He says he needs you
But he doesn’t need you like I do
And the truth is – it’s all a lie
And later on when you’re all alone
Later on you’ll think of me and cry

Country'er Than Me

My buddy was trying to fix me up with a blonde that his girlfriend knew
Sweet talking, southern girl with a super-cool attitude
I really hate to do blind dates they don’t usually work out for me
Then to top things off he said she’s got a great personality

But when I went to pick her up, much to my surprise
A beauty queen, a country boy’s dream, stood there before my eyes
She wore a cowboy hat and boots, with a new tattoo of the General Lee
Lord have mercy, she’s country’er than me

She keeps saying she likes my old pickup truck
She don’t mind it just a little bit dirty
And she really likes it all jacked up
We’re going hunting tonight
And fishing tomorrow
With a picnic by the creek
Lord have mercy, she’s country’er than me!

Second date was a trip to the lake
She’d be mine before too long
Bikini strings and cut off jeans was all that she had on
We idled out to my favorite spot, I said “I bet you can’t even swim”
The bet was lost when the strings came off
She was the first one jumping in!!

She keeps saying she likes my old pickup truck
She don’t mind it just a little bit dirty
And she really likes it all jacked up
We’re going hunting tonight
And fishing tomorrow
With a picnic by the creek
Lord have mercy, she’s country’er than me!

(Tag)
Where all of this might lead nobody knows
But next week she’s taking me to the rodeo

She keeps saying she likes my old pickup truck
She don’t mind it just a little bit dirty
And she really likes it all jacked up
We’re going hunting tonight
And fishing tomorrow
With a picnic by the creek
Lord have mercy, heaven help us all, Lord have mercy, she’s country’er than me

This Is Gonna Hurt Me

Written By: Robby Hopkins

I stood by my brother – the day he stole that quarter
I told Dad I didn’t see a thing
But something deep inside me – said he could see right through me
And he knew that I was lying through my teeth
I just stood there crying – like any boy would do
Dad sat down beside me on the bed
He taught a real good lesson
To me that day about lying
When he took me by the hand and softly said

This is gonna hurt me more than it’ll hurt you
Sometimes you’ve got to face the cold hard truth
There’s a price in life you’ve got to pay – for everything you do
This is gonna hurt me more than it’ll hurt you

I never will forget – that night I spent in jail
I guess I should have never drove to town
In spite of all the hurting – I was fairly certain
There was no way dad would ever let me down
Without any hesitation – with my drunken reputation
I said “Dad it’s just no fun in here alone”
He just sat there crying
I guess a part of him was dying
His voiced echoed as he hung up the phone

This is gonna hurt me more than it’ll hurt you
Sometimes you’ve got to face the cold hard truth
There’s a price in life you’ve got to pay – for everything you do
This is gonna hurt me more than it’ll hurt you

I stood by my brother and listened to the doctors
Tell us that Dad was barely hanging on
Said he was only suffering – and then I heard Dad whisper
Son, I'd be better off, to go on home
I just stood there crying like any boy would do
And I prayed oh Lord, please don't let this be so
The choice that he was making had my poor heart breaking
But I knew I had to let my Daddy go

This is gonna hurt me more than it’ll hurt you
Sometimes you’ve got to face the cold hard truth
There’s a price in life you’ve got to pay – for everything you do
This is gonna hurt me more than it’ll hurt you

Rough & Rowdy Crowd

Written By: Robby Hopkins

(Verse1)
There's a place out in the country
You can play your guitar way too loud
You can bet the farm you can find the farmer’s daughter
Hanging out with a rough and rowdy crowd

(Chorus)
When the sun goes down, the music turns up
They’re gonna dance all night in the bed of their pickup trucks
There ain’t a whole lot of wrong going on down here
But it’s more than the law would allow
Hanging out with a rough and rowdy crowd

(Verse 2)
They got a local band on the back of a flat-bed trailer
With a sound so hot the rain can’t put it out
They’re gonna party all night long
To Merle Haggard, Hank and Jones
Hanging out with a rough and rowdy crowd

(Chorus)

(Lead Break)

(Tag)
Doesn’t matter who you are, or where you say you’re from
You might be a doctor, may be a lawyer, maybe even kin to the judge
There ain’t a whole lot of wrong going on down here
But it’s more than the law would allow
Hanging out with a rough and rowdy crowd
Yeah they’re ain’t a whole lot of wrong going on down here
But it’s more than the law would allow
Hanging out with a rough and rowdy crowd
