Lyrics

Troubles

Written By: Rob Cox

Even though we’re not together
I don’t want to be alone
I’d have to find another shelter
That never feels as good as home
But if you’re trying just to put this down
At every corner trying to leave
Then who am I to hold you back
To your feelings, I’m not naïve

To Troubles within
Troubles without
Left to our own
What would be doubt

I ask you what you want right now
But you never seem quite sure
If I’m not the one you think about
What makes me think that we’ll endure

To Troubles within
Troubles without
Left to our own
What would be doubt

And when our time comes
Will we hide from it all
To shield ourselves
From the chance that we might fall
We might fall

McKinley

Written By: Rob Cox

There’s signs here on the freeway
They say which way to go
I follow them precisely
But I don’t really know

And I wonder if the cities
Displayed with miles to drive
Ever want the travelers
Who’s goals don’t coincide

‘cause I’m still driving
and I think you’re driving too
I should just break down and call you
‘cause I’m running now on fumes
and if there’s nothing at McKinley
then I’ll just keep driving through
cause I still miss you
but that’s all that I can do

I’m trying hard to focus
But rain makes it hard to see
I think that I may loose control
That’s not always a bad thing
‘cause maybe I am heading somewhere
I shouldn’t want to see
Or maybe I’ll just drive my car
And wander aimlessly

‘cause I’m still driving
and I think you’re driving too
I should just break down and call you
‘cause I’m running now on fumes
and if there’s nothing at McKinley
then I’ll just keep driving through
cause I still miss you
but that’s all that I can do

Fading Slowly

Written By: Rob Cox

you don't say a word, I let out a sigh
the silence is screaming so loud in this car I could die
and I'm lost again, it all looks the same
you ask me where this road is going but I can't explain
all I hoped for, and all I dreampt of that day
fading slowly, drive you home in the rain

should I try to speak or just let her be
the tension is clouding the air and it's harder to breath
is there still a chance I'm scared now to try
so I stare straight ahead try to tell myself everythings fine

this was so real
but you're so quiet
I say your name to end the silence

when the wall come falling down, how will you feel
when the phone calls are silence now tell me does that make it real
will this make it real

Army

Written By: Rob Cox

It was easy to clean my apartment
From the things that brought you to my mind
Although it won’t be quite so simple
To leave all our memories behind
I may have let go to easy
I may have spoken too soon
But I’d give anything to start over
And change my approach to you
I’ve never been good at transitions
But I’ve dealt with my fair share of change
I’ve seen everything from surrender
I’ve seen myself grow out of pain

I’ve built up an army of fears
I use it to crush every chance
I’d tried to be strong while I just walked away
But my army can’t help but advance

So I sit here and think of my record
And it may just take time behind bars
To realize its me that’s been giving
Myself a collection of scars
So I’ll turn myself in for correction
And maybe I’ll find some relief
I’ll give up this lonely resistance
And maybe I’ll try to believe

I’ve built up an army of fears
I use it to crush every chance
I’d tried to be strong while she just walked away
But my army can’t help but advance

I’ve built up an army of fears
I use it to crush every chance
I lie to myself, ‘cause I push them away
And my army can’t help but advance

In Case You Change Your Mind

Written By: Rob Cox

I lost my heart to southern california
a phone call on a 14 hour drive
and took my time, I didn't want to call yet
I didn't get to say whats on my mind

you'll be fine,
and I'll think about you only time will tell
will tell me that you're
gone, away, I'll save,
save a place for you in case you change your mind
I'll take my time

I lost my heart, to southern california
and maybe you will spare the time to write
it's not goodbye, it's wanting to be near you
it's wanting one more chance to clarify

you'll be fine,
and I'll think about you only time will tell
will tell me that you're
gone, away, I'll save,
save a place for you in case you change your mind
I'll take my time

Hollywood Ending

Written By: Rob Cox

you say your memory's gone,
but what about mine
some things aren't so easily forgotten
this water under the bridge
it's more like over the dam
once upon a time I had this notion
maybe you had one too

so whats the difference with us anyway
if your never gonna ask me to stay
it's a really fine line between your thoughts and feelings
but don't look now here comes your hollywood ending

this guy on the street today
he said the end is coming soon
but he doesn't even know
I guess neither do you
doesn't have to be like this
no we both had our chances,
had our chances but we let em slip away

so whats the difference with us anyway
if your never gonna ask me to stay
it's a really fine line between your thoughts and feelings
but don't look now here comes your hollywood ending
