"“Stand Alone,” Waiting For Monday (Self-produced)"

Folk can be a tricky genre. Sometimes it is too softly sung with badly played acoustic guitars, while other times it seems too much like coffee-house fare. That’s not necessarily a bad thing because some great music comes from said coffee houses. Visalia native Rob Cox’s former band Waiting For Monday definitely has its own spin on folk.

“Say You Will” has a hypnotic rhythm to it, and Cox’s voice only adds to it, while “More Time” has great lyrics about trying not to waste time. It doesn’t quite have a traditional folk sound, but it is not quite alternative folk, either.

“Stand Alone” is available on iTunes, and for more information on Rob Cox, visit www.robcoxmusic.com.
