Bio

From their beginnings in 2009 in College Station, Texas, the Rob Dues Band has expanded their membership, their musical palette, and their audience. Now based in Austin, the band is consistently finding new fans and building some aggressive momentum, playing shows in the Austin, Houston, and Dallas areas, and always getting bigger and better.

The band has the unique gift of creating unique sounds without respect to genre, giving audiences music that is fresh but accessible. Rob Dues' creative songwriting style has been called a mix between Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Los Lonely Boys, and Sting, while the band's composite sound has been compared to everything from the John Butler Trio to Sublime to the Chili Peppers.

Rob grew up learning from musicians such as Dave Matthews, Metallica, John Mayer, Monte Montgomery, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Jimi Hendrix, which have all influenced the group’s intricate melodies. Bassist Michael Adams brings a funky, jazzy low end, drawing influence from the Chili Peppers, Cake, Zeppelin, a little bit of Bootsy, and a broad range of others. Guitar and keyboard player Hamilton Skrabanek hails from the UNT music school, while drummer Johnny Adams brings a California influence.

The band has performed all the main venues in Bryan and College Station, from the laid-back downtown scene to the rowdy college crowd. Their Austin debut was at Ruta Maya, and now the list continues to grow.

Released in June 2009 by Stormy Cooper Media: "Lost Connection," recorded with then-drummer Travis Holland, was the group's first professionally-recorded album. Stormy is the bassist for Texas Country artist Roger Creager, and he deserves major credit and thanks for his invaluable advice during the production and recording of the 11-track CD during March 2009.
