BandChristianAcoustic

It's a cross between country, rock, and CCM laced with both classic and modern pop influences. Soft and dynmaic, full of hooks. Lyrically, it has a easy to listen to Christian message that often encourages the listener to "walk by faith and not by sight," as well as songs of praise and worship.

Biography

I never took myself serious as a singer/songwriter until 2003 when I gave my life to Christ. I didn't know any Christian music at the time, so I started writing and recording my own songs.

Altogether I've written over 30 songs. I've seen the Lord bless, as a couple of those songs have been played and sung in churches outside of my home church by different praise and worship leaders.

In December of 2004 I lost my mother to lung cancer. In April of 2005 I began my own battle with cancer, and by June of 2006 I was declared cancer free, praise God!!

I had seen God do so many things during that time period. It is still so amazing to me. This was the period in my life that became sort of "defining moments" for me. They made me who I am today. My faith in God was solidified through this experience, and I want to share that faith with as many as I can.

Since then I've hit the ground running.

In 2006 I played acoustic guitar and keyboards for a Christian rock band called "Dust." We won the 2006 Crawford County Fair/92.7 WQEL's Battle of the Bands. We also had a demo that we made of Phil Keaggy's song, "Sunday School" played on 92.7 WQEL, which is a secular rock'n'roll radio station.

Dust disbanded in late 2006, and I decided to keep going forward doing what God has called me to do. I started taking gigs as a solo, acoustic act.

Since then I've ministered and performed at various coffee houses, Christian "Night" Clubs, and churches as well as my home church here in Galion, Ohio. Not to mention I had the distinct privilage and honor of serving as an MC for Stage 4 Ministries during Galion's Oktoberfest 2007.

In November of 2007 I was awarded the artist of the month award by the Ohio Valley Christian Music Association, which for me is a really great honor considering all the talented, gifted singers, songwriters, and musicians associated with the OVCMA.

Seeing God move in my life and in the lives of those around me is what motivates me and inspires me as a minister, artist, and a songwriter. I know that I do not have a career in music, nor am I seeking one. But I do have a ministry in music and that's my desire is to come and minister and to speak, preach, teach, sing, and pray as the Lord leads me.

Lyrics

Blind

Written By: Robert Eric Johnson

Can you see around the corner
Can you see around the bend
Can you tell if your life's in danger
Can you tell if it's gonna end
Can you change your situation
Can you change your point of view
Can you change the way you think
and know that God's gonna get ya through

Do you see....oh, can you see?
Do you believe...oh, can you see?

Do you believe without seeing
Or can you see through different eyes
Is it beyond your understanding
Beyond your scope and size
For it's all about perception
Yeah, it's all about the view
Do you see your situation
And know that God's gonna get ya through

Do you see....oh, can you see?
Do you believe...oh, can you see?

Lean not to your understanding
'Cause it will never make perfect sense
Why we walk by faith, and not by sight, and not by the wisdom of men.

Lean not to your understanding
'Cause it will never make perfect sense
Why we walk by faith, and not by sight, and not by the wisdom of men.

Do you see....oh, can you see?
Do you believe...oh, can you see?

Do you see....oh, can you see?
Do you believe...oh, can you see?

For it's all about perception
Yeah, it's all about the view
Do you see your situation,
And know that God's gonna get ya through

It's Good News To Me

Written By: Robert Eric Johnson

I found peace, I found joy
I found everything I’ve ever wanted and more
I found truth, I found light
I picked up my cross, denied myself and now I’ve found life

And now all my dreams are just a prayer away
If you ask me why I’m smiling, why, I’ll just stop and say

In His hands He took the nails and He saved my soul from hell
From on the cross He gave me victory
And by His stripes I’ve been healed
You don’t know how good it feels
When your yoke is broken and you’ve finally been set free---It’s good news to me

I found strength for when I’m weak
I found everything I’ve ever wanted and need
I’ve had cancer, yeah, I’ve almost died
But I placed my faith in Jesus and now I’m alive

And I know my dream are just a prayer away
And if you ask me why I’m standing well, I’ll just smile and say

In His hands He took the nails and He saved my soul from hell
From on the cross He gave me victory
And by His stripes I’ve been healed
You don’t know how good it feels
When your yoke is broken and you’ve finally been set free---It’s good news to me

It's Your Presence

Written By: Robert Eric Johnson

I watch and I wait, I can’t wait much more
I’ve got to have You oh, so near
I seek Your face to be near you, Lord
It’s Your presence I long to feel

You are my destiny capturing my soul
You are the One I seek everywhere I go
And I know in You I find myself
When I’m lost inside Your will
I’ll draw near, I’ll press in until I see You again
It’s Your presence I long to feel

Your love amazes me, taken all of my shame
Your grace has raptured me, gave me life again
And You are my destiny capturing my soul
You are the One I seek everywhere I go

And I know in You find myself
When I’m lost inside Your will
I’ll draw near, I’ll press in until I see You again
It’s Your presence I long to feel

Savior

Written By: Robert Eric Johnson

I left my home --- Without a purpose, without a plan
I left alone --- Just trying hard to be a man
I lost my way --- I was blind and full of pride
Here’s me today --- My eyes are finally opened wide

‘Cause I found someone who could save my life
Do you know Jesus Christ as your Savior?
‘Cause He took my pain and He took my strife
Do you know Jesus Christ as your Savior?
Do you know Jesus Christ as your Savior?

I know your life --- Is filled with misery and pain
I know your heart --- Is beating for some kind of change
Believe you me --- I’ve been right where you are before
Follow me --- I’ll show you where I found the door

You Alone I Praise

Written By: Robert Eric Johnson

In the secret, in the shadow
In the comfort of Your wing
I will trust in You to be my shield
I'll not fear anything
My refuge, oh, my shelter
My God in whom I trust
You are my Rock, my Delieverer
My Savior, My Fortress

And You alone I praise
And You alone I praise

In the silence, oh, the silence
I listen for Your voice
It reaches me, it touches me
And my soul does rejoice
In my trials and my sadness
A new song will I sing
Blessed be Your name for Your righteousness
Glory, glory, King of Kings

And You alone I praise
And You alone I praise
And You alone I praise
And You alone I praise

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
You are Holy, You are Lord
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
You are Holy, You are Lord
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
You are Holy, You are Lord
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
You are Holy, You are Lord
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
You are Holy, You are Lord
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
You are Holy, You are Lord

And You alone I praise
And You alone I praise
And You alone I praise
And You alone I praise

Don't Let Me Sleep

Written By: Robert Eric Johnson

Don't let me sleep
Until I praise Your holy name
I'm getting tired, I'm getting weak
As the daylight begins to fade
So, don't let me sleep
You my God deserve so much more

Don't let me sleep
"til I've praised Your holy name
My life is Yours, Yours to keep
Your life was Yours, Your life You gave
You came into my heart, and my life has sinced been changed
So, don't let me sleep, until I've praised Your holy name

'Cause I wanna sing, I wanna dance
I wanna lift up my voice and lift up my hands
I wanna scream, I wanna shout
I wanna tell ya how I feel
I wanna sing, I wanna dance
I wanna lift up my voice and lift up my hands
I wanna scream, I wanna shout
I wanna tell ya how I feel
About You, Lord

Don't let me sleep
'til I've praised Your holy name
The healing's mine, it's mine to keep
It was Your flesh and blood You gave

You came and healed my heart
So, don't let me sleep
I'm gonna praise Your holy name

I'm gonna sing, I'm gonna dance
I'm gonna lift up my voice and lift up my hands
I'm gonna scream, I'm gonna shout
I'm gonna tell ya how I feel
I'm gonna sing, I'm gonna dance
I'm gonna lift up my voice and lift up my hands
I'm gonna scream, I'm gonna shout
I'm gonna tell ya how I feel
About You, Lord

I'm going to praise You, Lord
