Rob Kennedy

 North Vancouver, British Columbia, CAN
BandPopSinger/Songwriter

In an industry where the norm sees musicians pick a genre and stick with it, Rob Kennedy breaks the mold. Bridging the gap between pop/rock, jazz, folk and even a little country, Rob provides a refreshing departure from the typical singer songwriter. Turning songs into stories, Rob’s genuine love affair with music is apparent every time he picks up his guitar. While heavily influenced by the greats of the past, he provides a distinctively contemporary take. Rob could very well be this generation

Biography

Rob Kennedy possesses all the makings of a star, a voice, a guitar and a collection of songs that speak to the heart. This singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, defines what it means to be a consummate performer.

Growing up amongst the hills of North Vancouver, Rob’s passion for music was evident at a very early age. He was a key member in various high school bands playing everything from alto to bari-sax, but it wasn’t until he picked up his first acoustic guitar that Rob’s real love affair with music began.

With influences stemming from rock, jazz, folk and pop, Rob began penning lyrics and melodies that quickly evolved into timeless songs. His infectious hooks and clever lyrics created a hybrid of acoustic sounds which began gaining Rob respect and recognition amongst his local Vancouver peers.

While heavily influenced by the greats of the past, Rob provides a distinctly contemporary take with his music. It has been said that he could very well be this generations’ James Taylor.

Rob is excited to be launching is debut CD entitled Postcard featuring 7 songs that shares life’s’ all too familiar ups and downs. From love and laughter to sorrow and heartache, he captures these almost lost memories and preserves them in song. Either solo or with a band, Rob will take you to “ Another time, another place.”

Lyrics

August Song

Written By: Robert Kennedy

If I was to see you again,
Would I make you move so smooth,
We still got it going on just that,
There’s miles and miles between us two
Just want to see you again and again
Hopefully Before this august ends

Why I can’t understand whats happening
Ain’t ever felt this way before
We’ll just take some time and rearrange
You’ve never felt this way before

Like that blue sky that made me smile and smile, you still stun me just like the sun does too
And like the waves you keep coming and coming up in my head, I pray to see you soon

Why I can’t understand whats happening
Ain’t ever felt this way before
We’ll just take some time and rearrange
You’ve never felt this way before

And I know one fact keeps coming on back in my mind
I feel I know wwe need to be together over and over and over again

Nothing Matters

Written By: Rob Kennedy

Nothing matters when you call my name
If i'm here or there or anywhere, it's all the same
When I hear your voice it's over for me
and it doesn't matter where or when I am or what i see
PRE C:
Seeing you not by my side
Can not keep me satisfied
CHORUS
You take the place of everything
I'll choose you over everything
This only song I wanna sing
and I'll drop it all for you

What I needed before, doesn't matter today
Cause i see where you go and i want to go on your way
Wait for me, I'm coming, coming with you
And it doesn't matter at all, cause i want to be with you
PRE C
CHORUS

No matter what i carry, what's on my back
If all for nothing i can't get enough of that
No matter what i'm doing, anything at all
I'll always give you my all and all

CHORUS

Postcard

Written By: Robert Kennedy

Another time, another place where the weather winds and guides me along
Another line, annother space these words are for you, i say them, they still seem wrong
So where was I when your shop set off, off to somewhere better town
Another lie another face, I miss you, I do, I hope you won't be too long
CHORUS
Take care my love I wish you would come back soon, I'm lonely without you
Sometimes it's like I'm standing alone on the moon, I'm lonely without you

Another day, another pace, I'm moving backwards as the days tick along while your gone
Another plane, another train, your somber phone call assures me you're on your way home

CHORUS

Why waste time on wondering if
and why waste time on other silly things
and why waste time on wondering if i'm still, on your mind.

CHORUS
