"Mary Gauthier"

"Robert Morgan Fisher was born to write. He is a natural born word man and when he puts his words to music, the songs will grab you with their wonderful use of language. His latest CD contains an all star cast of contributors and they wouldn't be there if they didn't believe in this man's songs. Give this CD a listen, there's plenty here to enjoy." - Lost Highway Recording Artist

"Skippy"

" ... his songs have a wry sense of humor ... and he's worked with the best ... following in the footsteps of the folk revolution of the 50's and 60's, robert is as politically aware as he is melodic ... we are currently enjoying his songs on our cd player as we write this. we'd happily encourage everyone else to do the same." - Skippy The Bush Kangaroo

"Dan Bern"

"... inhabits and speaks for those who can't. Love the songs and they sound great." - Messenger Records Recording Artist

"Follow A Hunch"

"Fisher writes funny, imaginative and intelligent songs. Like our best songwriters, he is capable of using real humor to uplift a song and underscore its meaning, without ever obscuring or trivializing the subject. He's expert with narrative and manages to write songs about ordinary things, like a guitar or a cup of coffee, and make something special out of them. He's also a strong singer who lets us hear his lyrics, and the production -- by Fisher and Chad Watson -- is first-rate. The inclusion of excellent musicians like Byron Berline makes something good even better. This one is worth your while." - Sing Out! Magazine

"Built Myself a Greenhouse"

"First you're astonished over the impressive guest-artist-list; Albert Lee, Augie Meyers, Mickey Raphael, Don Randi, Chris Spedding and Sky Saxon! But then you realize that Fisher is a singer-songwriter-talent, to be taken quite seriously - Not least the lyrics' great humour and intelligent twist, really makes you wanna listen!" - ROOTSY.NU Scandinavian Americana Website

Discography

My 1996 debut CD, FOLLOW A HUNCH, was very well reviewed and continues to garner airplay. In 2005, I released BUILT MYSELF A GREENHOUSE, a star-studded affair (Albert Lee, Delaney Bramlett, Chris Montez, John McEuen, etc.) which has the distinction, during the first year of release, of achieving national and international airplay for all 14 tracks. One of those tracks, "A Life In Music," was a finalist for VH-1 2005 Song of the Year in the Folk Music Category.

Bio

I'm a writer. In addition to novels and screenplays, I'm at the forefront of the neo-narrative songwriting movement (neo-narrative = story songs). I co-wrote four albums of material with Darryl Purpose including folk standards such as "Mr. Schwinn," "Oughta Be A Highway," "Dangerous Game" and "Late For Dinner." Because of a song I cowrote ("Mr. Schwinn") Q Magazine in Britain called Darryl “America’s most original narrative story-teller since Harry Chapin.”

My influences are vast; my CD collection enormous and I'm always reading three novels at any one time (I keep one in my car, another on the nightstand and one in the bathroom ;-)
