Roberto Obregon is a singer/songwriter/guitarist from Miami, Florida who possesses a unique blend of classic Latin music, pop, jazz, and R&B. He has been influenced over the years by so many varieties of music from around the world that he has developed his own eclectic style that makes him truly one of a kind in the industry.

His vocals are wonderfully adaptable. He can go from singing a beautiful bolero all the way to belting out the raspy wails of a Gypsy flamenco cantaor, and then back to the silky and soulful tones of a blues and jazz singer.

Quoting his friend, Jake Tanner, Sound Engineer and Grammy Award winner, “With Roberto’s beautifully poetic lyrics and heart-melting vocals, language is no barrier. His music speaks to the listener on a soul level. We are truly honored to have worked with such a talented artist.”

Roberto is currently working on his latest CD, House of Hope, due to be released in 2013, and looking forward to venturing out on the road to share his new music with all of his fans. He has released three prior CDs, D’ Aki Pal Cielo, 2009; Revelaciones, 2003; and Historias, 1996, all of which have earned him several accolades.

Following in his family’s footsteps, Roberto expressed his interest in music at a very early age. He started singing in his sister’s choir when he was 5 years old and by the time he was 8, he entered the National Conservatory of Music, Guatemala where he began his classical training, studying music theory and flute.

He later attended the Jesus Maria Alvarado School of Music Education while still continuing his studies at the National Conservatory of Music, now studying piano, vocals, and guitar. At this point, he was already gravitating towards the sounds of American jazz and R&B.

Roberto immigrated to the United States just 4 days shy of his 17th birthday eager to pursue his dream of a career in music. That choice opened the door to many wonderful experiences and opportunities for him. It has taken him and his music all over the United States, South America, the Caribbean, and Europe.

When asked why he chose music, Roberto’s response is that he didn’t, that music chose him. He says that it is a condition that affects him daily on an emotional and spiritual level and that it is embedded deep within his soul.

He says that through the magic of music, you can touch people on a very personal and powerful level and change their lives. Therefore, it is very important to him that his music and lyrics have a positive impact on his audience and that it can empower and help them in one way or another.
