"Robert Rolfe Feddersen Leaving Indiana"

One thing is clear: Robert Rolfe Feddersen must have had a blast recording his first album, Leaving Indiana, because the enthusiasm he has for his music is unmistakable. Considering this is his first full-length release, Robert does a decent job of showcasing his talent as a singer, performer and songwriter.....

Despite his musical minimalism, Feddersen explores a range of subjects on his album. The songs on this release vary from highly personal stories to a heartwarming indictment of this unstoppable machine of corporate evil and injustice known as America (you know, the usual admiration for our country); he even includes a quaint instrumental piece on which he shows off his keyboard skills. The most poignant song his album is How Does God Decide, a thought provoking song that showcases Robert’s songwriting skills. Though he does not pretend to have the answers to his questions about life’s inequalities, such as hunger, poverty, war and death, he frames his wondering in a very sincere way. Leaving Indiana is personal without being self-absorbed, and Feddersen demonstrates an awareness of and concern for the world around him, while still taking time to appreciate his place in it. - music-reviewer.com

"Review: Leaving Indiana, Robert Rolfe Feddersen"

If David Lowrey went on a true country kick, this is what he’d sound like. The songs have a bit of sardonic humor to them and are well crafted and catchy. The production seems a bit spare and could be kicked up a bit and still retain its “lo-fi” simplistic feel.

"Robert Rolfe Feddersen Podcast"

Robert Rolfe Feddersen has created a beautiful "slice-of-life-as-art" piece with his new CD "Leaving Indiana". "Leaving Indiana is the most fun and creative recording experience I've ever had. Songs about my wife, California, my best friend's new baby, my dog...everything relevant to my life today." According to his myspace page, Roberts claims to acclaim include hanging with Bob Barker in a stint as a contestant on "The Price is Right", rocking the stage with Metallica, recording with Steve Albini, Johnny K., Joe Baresi, and writing music for "more than thirty films, tv shows and video games".
