Nominated for Best Male Vocalist in the 2008 Orange County Music Awards Robert Steffens music is intimate, earthy and melodically dynamic. A native of Orange, CA. He travelled through Europe at age 20 and moved to NYC at age 22 where for the past 10 years he was part of several award winning avant garde theatre productions. His work acting in the Public theatres Othello with Liev Schreiber and Keith David as well as Jim Hensons Obie winning production of the Kabuki spoof "Benten Kozo" continue to inspire a love of the stage as a theatrical medium. He has also appeared in Independent films including "Suicide Doors" and SpikeLees' "Bamboozled" . He now calls Santa Barbara home and is excited at the many musical opportunites to unfold in a short time nearby including being a featured performer for the downtown organizations "First Thursday", the Art in the Park Shell Beach Festival, the Independents sponsored "Velvet Jones 80's Retro Rock Show", Jensens Mainstage songwriter Showcase, and an upcoming date at The Soho Dec. 23 at 7pm.
