Bio
Robin Greenstein is a singer - songwriter- song interpreter based in NY. She blends traditional folk, pop, rock, country and blues into a style she calls "Acousticness." She started playing guitar at age 11 and banjo at age 17. As a teen she studied at the famed Guitar Workshop in Roslyn, NY later becoming a teacher at the same school while she went to college. She majored in music (classical guitar) at SUNY-Stony Brook, studying for a year at Trinity College of Music and King's College in London. At college, she studied and worked under folk legend Hedy West (500 Miles). After she graduated, she was signed to Bob Dylans publishing company while at the same time receiving a grant to research and perform Jewish music in NYC. Shes since gone on to do folk music research, teach, perform extensively on the US college market, the folk circuit, and tour in Europe, Asia, Mexico and China.
Robin was a clinician for Martin Guitars and travelled worldwide on their behalf. She has performed in over 44 states and 7 countries, and is a Club Med artist.
She has 6 CDs out: 2 of original music, 2 of traditional folk and blues songs about women (her Images of Women series), a kids recording Art Is A Language and her latest recording, a multi-cultural holiday CD called Songs of the Season.
