Bio

ROBIN HODGE WILLIAMS
At an early age, she traveled the Bay Area singing with her father, mother, and sister. At the age of 8, Robin began playing the piano by ear. With this skill, she organized a gospel choir at Oakland High School and at Merritt College and was hired to work with the music department at both schools. From her work in these schools, she was hired to be the Minister of Music for several churches.
Robin Hodge Williams awards and recognitions include the “Best Female Vocalist of the Year” in 1984 and 1993 by the Bay Area Gospel Academy Awards, recognition in the August 2000 issue of Billboard Magazine as one of Gospel’s “Hottest New Upcoming Artists”, and in 2002, she was featured on Bobby Jones Gospel Hour! 2004-2005 she recently became the music director and principal artist of the play “Black Nativity” at the Lorraine Hansberry Theatre.
Mrs. Williams has three CD's : Show Me, Anointed Me, and her latest release Purpose.
She has also been featured in such gospel projects and Lawrence Matthews and Friends singing “Savior Do Not Pass Me By”, Greater Temple Church of God in Christ as the composer and lead vocalist of “Saved”, and Edwin Hawkins’ Music and Arts Seminar Project singing “Jesus Loves Me”.
She has also performed with such distinguished artists as Tramaine Hawkins, Rance Allen, Shirley Caesar, Patti Labelle, Dorinda Clark, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Daryl Cooley, Karen Clark Sheard, Kim Burrell, and many others.
