"Robin Lee Berry"

Greg Brown describes Berry's voice as "clear spring water gushing out of a deep place in the earth. It goes right to your heart."

Berry is an amazingly talented performer who shape-shifts from folk to jazz, from ballads to blues but the underlying constant in all her music is the conviction in her voice showing us again that her heart is right where it should be with her songs flowing right from the center.

Robin "---reflects northern Michigan's feminine soul, blending themes of strength, courage and vulnerability in her songs, all rendered with the spirit of awe and optimism." Robert Downes, owner and editor of Northern Express Magazine

Bio

Robin Lee Berry, an amazingly talented and seasoned performer whose unique songwriting absolutely shines in terms of pure beauty and originality. Blessed with a great voice this woman steps up to the plate and swings for the parking lot. She shape-shifts effortlessly from folk to jazz, ballads to blues, redolent with texture, adding precise guitar work and the power of her voice to the stage and to her four independently produced and recorded cd's.

Performs solo, duo, jazz trio, 5 piece cover and original band and 18 piece big band.

Robin's last recording "Ahna Kick a Hole in the Sky" recording also offers a cameo performance of Greg Brown singing together their soulfilled "Never So Far".

Robin has opened concerts for Greg Brown and Bo Ramsey, Garnet Rogers, Rory Block, Michael Smith, Josh White Jr. and performed concert halls and festivals around the midwest.
In 2002 Robin was included in the Red House Release, Going Driftless, an artists tribute to Greg Brown. She contributed cut #13 Hey Baby Hey.

Influenced by Joni Mitchell, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Bill Evans, Miles Davis, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, CSYN, Leonard Bernstein, Pete Seeger and musical theater.
