Bio
Born in California to a family that has music in it's genes, Robin Mink has been singing since she popped out of her mother's womb. Nothing has changed. An early childhood filled with school musicals, talent shows, and local gigs set the life coarse for this most musical artist. She began begging her parents for a guitar at 4 years old, until they finally got her one at age 9.
Before Mink went to Nashville in 2001 she won first place in Santa Barbara Arts Council "Works For Voice" award with hight praise from judges, Kenny Loggins and Norman Gimble (Killing Me Softly). Landing in Nashville with her award winning debut CD, "More To Love" she quickly gained the respect of the Masters while remaining little known by the masses. Teaming up with publicist Pam Lewis (Garth Brooks former Manager) gave Mink greater visibility in the Music City. In July 2003 Robin was honored with the "DisCovery Award" in Music Row Magazine, awarded by Robert K. Oermann. He says, "Mink Hit's A Home Run... Fueled by the respect from the Music City Pros, Robin spent 8 years honing her crafts "Nashville Style", working and playing with the likes of:
Andy Hall (Infamous String Dusters, Dolly Parton, the late Harley Allen)
Tom Roady (Aretha, Ricky Scaggs, and practically everyone!)
Pave Pomeroy (EmmyLou Harris, Trisha Yearwood,)
MC Potts (Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson).
A death and illness in her family took priority suddenly in 2008. In July 2009 Robin said goodbye to her Nashville home and headed back west to be with family. After the passing of Robin's Mother in 2010, and not sure where to land, Mink roamed around her old haunts, Norther CA and Southern OR, visiting and work trading for rent. "...I can fix stuff: plumbing, appliances, etc". While living for the summer in a mountain cabin near Ashland, Robin had a chance meeting with an artist who was happy to find a producer with Mink's unique flavors. That meeting turned into an off-grid mountain production utilizing her laptop and MBox. Add to that some great dinners with wonderful folks, world class musicians that live and play here and Robin now calls Southern Oregon "Home"... again. Keep the address in pencil please.
Robin lives in Talent, Oregon, where she recently debuted her solo show to a sold out audience.
