"from a benfit for darfur"

One would think that a music city like Seattle would have an overflowing blues scene. Unfortunately, it’s on life support. However one knight in shining armor by the name of Robin Moxey could be here to the rescue. On stage his eyes are often closed and his head tilted back as he reaches up to the guitar heavens for help show after show. Stevie Ray Vaughn has to be helping out because you can’t watch Moxey without thinking of Stevie Ray... Moxey is about the best blues guitarist in Seattle right now, keeping jaws dropped during every show he plays. It’ll be very interesting to see what he can do on an acoustic guitar. I’m glad I’m not that guitar.

Bio

Robin is a singer-songwriter who considers himself an exponent of Americana music. From Leadbelly, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bob Dylan and the Beach Boys, his influences are clear. Robin brings audiences to their feet with his dynamic stage presence. His performances showcase his vocals and soulful guitar solos.

Robin has two independent albums coming out in 2008! His debut solo album “One Big Song” features him as a songwriter and producer, while “Live at Shangri–la “(with Little Feat drummer Ritchie Hayward and Bonnie Raitt bassist Hutch Hutchinson) captures live performances of songs by artists whose music has influenced and inspired him.

After playing hundreds of shows all over the US and in Europe, Robin’s independent album, “One Big Song” is set for release in February 2008. The album contains songs about love, loosing love and finding it again. Themes about getting older and "trading in our dreams for bottom lines" and "the good times never last" are juxtaposed against feelings of "gotta keep on moving, so life don't get me down" and "nothing bothers me" showing the hope that comes with knowledge and experience. Robin recorded and co-produced the album tracks with Grammy award winning Producer Mark Johnson in Los Angeles, CA. SteelyDan drummer Ricky Lawson, and veteran bass legend Reggie McBride. Robin arranged his original songs and plays guitar on all tracks.

Robin is also an experienced producer and engineer, having produced 8 albums for independent artists in partnership with Mark Johnson.
