It's simple: We play Americana/roots rock. It varies from country to blues to folk to rock. It's not pretentious, and it's not overly rehearsed. It's just what we do, and we do it well.

Biography

Rob Jonas is a singer-songwriter born and raised in the great region of New York state known as the Capital District (that includes the cities of Albany, Schenectady and Troy -- as well as every town in between). Rob has been performing his original songs since 2005 and has recorded a pair of albums: 2006's "Wandering Madison" and 2009's "Take Me Anywhere." For many years, Rob's been playing solo acoustic shows, but these days he can be found with his band including JV Abbey (lead guitar), Mark Adamo (drums), Mike Guzzo (bass/backing vocals) and Terry McClain (keyboards/backing vocals). Rob's goal is to take over the world one person at a time ... but failing that, he wants to at least entertain as many people as possible with his mix of blues, rock and country.

40 Miles out of Memphis

Written By: Rob Jonas

40 MILES OUT OF MEMPHIS
YOU SAID THE DARNDEST THING
ARE WE GONNA BE ALL RIGHT
OR SHOULD WE HAVE ONE LAST FLING
I LOOKED AT YOU FOR SOME GUIDANCE
TO SEE IF THERE WAS SOMETHING IN YOUR EYES
BUT YOU WERE STARING AT THE ROAD
AS OUR LIFE TOGETHER FLASHED BY

CHORUS
WELL I DON’T KNOW WHERE WE’RE HEADED
BUT I KNOW IT WON’T BE YOU AND ME
SO LET’S JUST STOP RIGHT HERE
AT THE EDGE OF MAKE BELIEVE

I KNOW WE’RE NOT THE FOOLS
THAT WE PRETEND TO BE
WE BOTH KNOW THERE’S SOMETHING WRONG
BUT WE’RE TOO SCARED TO LEAVE
WELL I’M THROUGH PLAYING THIS GAME
SO I’LL MAKE THE FIRST BIG MOVE
YOU CAN HAVE THE HOUSE AND THE KIDS
AND I’LL START SOMEWHERE NEW

CHORUS

40 MILES OUT OF MEMPHIS
I SAID THE DARNDEST THING
IF YOU WANT OUT GO RIGHT AHEAD
JUST GIVE ME BACK THE RING
BUT YOU DIDN’T SAY A WORD
YOU JUST STARED STRAIGHT AHEAD
AND THAT WAS THE MOMENT I KNEW
THAT WHAT WE HAD WAS DEAD

CHORUS (2X)

Welcome to the Crew

Written By: Rob Jonas

WELCOME TO THE CREW DON’T BE SCARED
THIS IS YOUR HOME NOW THIS IS YOUR HOME
WE MAY NOT BE HIGH CLASS BUT WE LIVE WELL
AND THAT’S ALL THAT COUNTS, THAT’S ALL THAT COUNTS

WELCOME TO THE CREW THIS IS OUR CLUBHOUSE
IT’S JUST A HOLE IN THE WALL BUT IT’S OUR HOLE
SO PULL UP A CHAIR AND GRAB YOURSELF A BEER
JUST PLAY IT COOL, JUST PLAY IT COOL

CHORUS
OOOOOOOO YOU’RE ONE OF US NOW
OOOOOOOO YOU’RE ONE OF US NOW
OOOOOOOO YOU’RE ONE OF US NOW
OOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOO

WELCOME TO THE CREW WE’RE WORKING CLASS
BUT WE’RE WORKING, HOW ABOUT YOU?
SO DON’T JUDGE US BY THE WAY WE LOOK
BUT BY THE WAY WE ACT WHEN WE’RE AROUND YOU

CHORUS

WELCOME TO THE CREW
DON’T BE SCARED
THIS IS YOUR HOME NOW
THIS IS YOUR HOME

Wandering Madison (Track 2)

Written By: Rob Jonas

I’M WANDERING MADISON AGAIN
HOPING TO FIND A FRIEND
SEARCHING FOR SOMEONE WHO I CAN RELY ON
I’M WANDERING MADISON AGAIN

THINGS USED TO BE SO CLEAR
IN THE DAYS WHEN I HAD YOU NEAR
BUT MY ADDICTIONS GOT IN THE WAY AND YOU COULDN’T STAY
NOW MY LIFE ISN’T SO CLEAR

I WATCH THE COUPLES AS THEY WALK DOWN THE STREET
JEALOUS OF WHAT THEY HAVE
I TRY TO REMEMBER WHEN THAT WAS ME
AND LIFE DIDN’T SEEM SO BAD

I’M WANDERING MADISON AGAIN
AND I FEEL LIKE I’M AT THE END
OF A ROPE THAT’S BEEN DANGLING AND TRIES TO KEEP STRANGLING
THE HOPE OUT OF THIS POOR SOUL AGAIN

I TRY TO GATHER MY THOUGHTS BUT IT’S SO HARD TO DO
WHEN EVERYTHING HITS YOU AT ONCE
YOU HOPE YOU CAN HOLD ON TILL YOU FIND SOMEONE WHO
IS WILLING TO GIVE YOU A CHANCE

I’M WANDERING MADISON AGAIN
HOPING TO FIND A FRIEND
SEARCHING FOR SOMEONE WHO I CAN RELY ON
I’M WANDERING MADISON AGAIN

I’M WANDERING MADISON AGAIN
AND I FEEL LIKE I’M AT THE END
OF A ROPE THAT’S BEEN DANGLING AND TRIES TO KEEP STRANGLING
THE HOPE OUT OF THIS POOR SOUL AGAIN

Livin' the Dream

Written By: Rob Jonas

I’M LIVIN’ THE DREAM WHATEVER THAT MEANS
THAT’S WHAT I’VE BEEN TOLD BY EVERYONE THAT I KNOW
I GOT A BIG HOUSE WITH A FENCED-IN YARD
AND A SHINY RED CONVERTIBLE IN THE DRIVEWAY

I’M LIVIN’ THE DREAM
WHATEVER THAT MEANS
I’M LIVIN’ THE DREAM

I’M LIVIN’ THE DREAM ON THIS SHADY STREET
WHERE THE NEIGHBORS GROW MORE DISTANT EVERY DAY
THE PAPER IS THROWN RIGHT TO MY DOOR
BUT ALL I READ ARE THE SPORTS AND THE FUNNIES

I’M LIVIN’ THE DREAM
AND EACH DAY IT SEEMS
THAT THINGS ARE GOING TO HELL ALL AROUND ME
BUT I’M LIVIN’ THE DREAM
WHATEVER THAT MEANS
I’M LIVIN’ THE DREAM

I’M LIVIN’ THE DREAM AND I PAY FOR IT DAILY
THE MONEY GOES OUT FASTER THAN IT GOES IN
THE MORTGAGE IS LATE SO IS THE CAR
AND DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON MY CREDIT CARDS

I’M LIVIN’ THE DREAM
AND EACH DAY IT SEEMS
THAT I’M ON THE VERGE OF LOSING EVERYTHING
BUT I’M LIVIN’ THE DREAM
WHATEVER THAT MEANS
I’M LIVIN’ THE DREAM

Gotta Get Goin'

Written By: Rob Jonas

GREETINGS FROM MEXICO
HOW IS THE SNOW
I’VE BEEN HERE SO LONG
THAT SUMMER’S ALL I KNOW
HOW’S THE GANG BACK HOME
I FEEL SO ALONE
I WISH I COULD GO
BACK TO WHERE I BELONG

CHORUS
OOOOOOHH GOTTA GET GOIN’
OOOOOOHH GOTTA GET GOIN’
OOOOOOHH GOTTA GET GOIN’
OOOOOOHH GOTTA GET GONE

THERE’S NOTHING TO DO
SO I THINK OF YOU
HANGING WITH THE CREW
PLOTTING YOUR NEXT BIG MOVE
BUT I WAS JUST LIKE YOU
I THOUGHT I HAD TO PROVE
I COULD CREATE SOMETHING NEW
BUT ALL I CREATED WAS A FOOL

CHORUS

SO ANOTHER DAY DRIFTS BY
AND I WONDER WHY
I BELIEVED IN THE LIE
THAT THIS IS WHERE I WOULD TRY
TO CHANGE MY LIFE
BUT JUST HOW WRONG WAS I
TO LEAVE YOU BEHIND
NOW I THINK THAT I’VE … GOTTA GET GOIN’

CHORUS
